Purpose: To determine the distribution of blood glucose and prevalence of diabetes in people above 60 years living in Tehran and their relationship with some variables.

Methods: In this cross-sectional population-based study, multistage cluster sampling was performed in the over 60-year-old population of Tehran. Blood samples were collected from all participants and the data of the history of diabetes and the use of blood glucose lowering agents or other drugs were collected using interviews.

The presence of increased air bubble in the lumina of esophagus on a chest CT scan may be associated with esophageal disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the association between the appearance of air bubbles on chest CT scan and gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). In this case-control study, thirty-two patients with endoscopically proved GERD and 32 subjects without GERD underwent chest computed tomography (CT) scanning.

Introduction: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is raising prevalence among children, and adolescence population in developed and developing countries as a major public health concern. The present study aims to determine the relationship between serum ferritin level and transient elastography findings in patients suffering from NAFLD.

Materials And Methods: The demographic and biochemical profile of included individuals such as body mass index, age, level of serum transaminases, fasting blood sugar, lipid profile, and serum ferritin level were determined and a transient elastography was performed for all of them.

Purpose: To determine the prevalence of refractive errors, among 6- to 15-year-old schoolchildren in the city of Dezful in western Iran.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 1375 Dezful schoolchildren were selected through multistage cluster sampling. After obtaining written consent, participants had uncorrected and corrected visual acuity tests and cycloplegic refraction at the school site.
