Efficacy of Different Ibuprofen Formulations with Two Prescription Methods on Post Endodontic Pain of Teeth with Irreversible Pulpitis: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Introduction: Pain management during root canal therapy and after that is of great importance in endodontics. This study aimed to compare the effect of two non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs); ibuprofen and ibuprofen lysine with two methods of prescription on pain after single-visit root canal treatment of first and second mandibular molar teeth with irreversible pulpitis.

Materials And Methods: This randomized study recruited subjects experiencing moderate to severe pain from a tooth diagnosed with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis (n=120).

The impact of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) on delayed tooth replantation: A preliminary animal study.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) placed in delayed replantation of mature extracted teeth. Sixteen intentionally extracted teeth in two mature beagle dogs were selected. In one quadrant of each jaw, the extraction sockets were filled with PRF prior to replantation, and the other quadrant served as control without PRF.

Postendodontic Pain after Pulpotomy or Root Canal Treatment in Mature Teeth with Carious Pulp Exposure: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial.

This equivalence, randomized, clinical trial aimed to compare the postoperative pain of root canal therapy (RCT) with pulpotomy with mineral trioxide aggregate (PMTA) or calcium-enriched mixture (PCEM) in permanent mature teeth. In seven academic centers, 550 cariously exposed pulps were included and randomly allocated into PMTA ( = 188), PCEM ( = 194), or RCT ( = 168) arms. Preoperative "Pain Intensity" (PI) on Numerical Rating Scale and postoperative PIs until day 7 were recorded.

Surgical Endodontics Regenerative Periodontal Surgery for Management of a Large Periradicular Lesion.

Treatment success of periodontal-endodontic lesions is dependent on the elimination of both disease causative factors, whether they exist separately or concurrently. This report presents successful endodontic management of a misdiagnosed large periradicular pathology, which had not resolved after a previous periodontal regenerative surgery. Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) is a tick-borne viral disease that is transmitted by numerous species of ticks, which serve both as a reservoir and vector of CCHF virus (CCHFV). Molecular and serological tests were undertaken on hard ticks (Ixodidae spp.) and samples from livestock were collected in 2015 from Chabahar County in Southeast Iran.

Primula auriculata Extracts Exert Cytotoxic and Apoptotic Effects against HT-29 Human Colon Adenocarcinoma Cells.

Primula auriculata (Tootia) is one of the most important local medicinal plants in Hamedan district, Iran. To investigate cytotoxicity and apoptosis induction of crude methanolic extract and different fraction of it, we compared several methods on HT-29 human colon Adenocarcinoma cells. Cancer cell proliferation was measured by 3-(4, 5‑dimethylthiazolyl)2, 5‑diphenyl‑tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay and apoptosis induction was analyzed by fluorescence microscopy (acridin orange/ethidium bromide, annexin V/propidium iodide staining, TUNEL assay and Caspase-3 activity assay).

Cholinesterase inhibitors have shown to be effective in alleviating the symptoms of the disease, thus opening a field of research for these treatments. Herbal products, owning a reputation as effective agents in many biological studies are now drawing attention for inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, in other words, Alzheimer disease.

Estradiol attenuates spinal cord injury-induced pain by suppressing microglial activation in thalamic VPL nuclei of rats.

In our previous study we showed that central pain syndrome (CPS) induced by electrolytic injury caused in the unilateral spinothalamic tract (STT) is a concomitant of glial alteration at the site of injury. Here, we investigated the activity of glial cells in thalamic ventral posterolateral nuclei (VPL) and their contribution to CPS. We also examined whether post-injury administration of a pharmacological dose of estradiol can attenuate CPS and associated molecular changes.

Brain insulin dysregulation: implication for neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.

Arduous efforts have been made in the last three decades to elucidate the role of insulin in the brain. Objectives: Illicit drug abuse has crossed social, economic, and geographical borders, and remains one of the major health problems that modern society is facing worldwide. The role of multiple drug abuse as a basic for chromosome damage has been overlooked and it is important to determine its possible adverse health effects. This study aimed to compare the frequency of chromosomal damages between drug addicts and free drug controls.

We investigated protective properties of WIN55212-2 (WIN, a non-selective cannabinoid receptor agonist) in beta-amyloid (Aβ)-induced neurodegeneration in rat hippocampus and possible involvement of PPAR-gamma (PPAR-γ).

Serological evaluation of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever in humans with high-risk professions living in enzootic regions of Isfahan province of Iran and genetic analysis of circulating strains.

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a zoonotic viral disease that is asymptomatic in infected livestock, but causes a serious threat to humans with a mortality rate up to 50%. Although the CCHF virus (CCHFV) is often transmitted by ticks, livestock-to-human and human-to-human transmission also occurs. In the current study, we focused on CCHF in the province of Isfahan, located in the center of Iran and deemed to be the second most infected province.

Determination of Trace Amounts of Lead Using the Flotation-spectrophotometric method.

The present study describes a simple and highly selective method for separation, preconcentration and spectrophotometric determination of extremely low concentrations of lead. It is based on flotation of a complex of Pb ions and Alizarin yellow between aqueous and -hexane interface at pH = 6. The proposed procedure is also applied for determination of lead in both tap water and prepared sea water samples.

Floatation-spectrophotometric Determination of Thorium, Using Complex Formation with Eriochrome Cyanine R.

A novel and sensitive floatation-spectrophotometric method is presented for determination of trace amounts of thorium in water samples. The method is based on the ion-associated formation between thorium, Eriochrome cyanine R and Brij-35 at pH = 4 media. The complex was floated in the interface of the aqueous phase and n-hexane by vigorous shaking.

Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a viral haemorrhagic fever caused by the CCHF virus. It is mainly transmitted to humans and animals by ticks. In recent y, large numbers of livestock have been transported across the border areas of Ardabil Province resulting in an outbreak of CCHF in the adjacent districts.

Effect of spatial learning on hippocampal testosterone in intact and castrated male rats.

Background: Sex steroids and their receptors exist in hippocampus and affect spatial learning and memory. This study was designed to measure testosterone level of CA1 and to assess the effect of spatial learning on its amount in left and right hippocampus of adult male rats.

Methods: Sixteen rats were divided into two intact and castrated groups, and then trained in Morris water maze (MWM).

Adrenalectomy potentiates the antinociceptive effects of calcium channel blockers.

Calcium channel blockers can modulate the nociceptive threshold. However, the underlying mechanism(s), especially the role of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, on this effect has not yet been clarified. In the present study we investigated the analgesic effect of verapamil, diltiazem and nimodipine in intact and adrenalectomized (ADX) male rats and also measured the effect of these drugs on HPA function.
