Cancer is a complex group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells in the body. These abnormal cells can form tumors or invade nearby tissues and organs, leading to a range of health problems. There are many different types of cancer, which can be categorized based on the location of the primary tumor, the type of cell involved, and the stage of the disease.

The research paper mainly deals with waste heat recovery from internal combustion engines (ICE) using the organic Rankine cycle (ORC) and Thermoelectric generator (TEG). Simultaneously recovering the wasted heat of both exhaust gases and coolant, a novel configuration named two-stage is proposed. Then a comprehensive thermo-economic analysis and optimization are conducted.

Article Synopsis
  • The article focuses on optimizing a gas turbine (GT) with intercooling to enhance sustainability in energy production.
  • The integration of an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system is proposed for heat recovery to minimize exergy destruction and environmental heat loss.
  • Through a parametric study, various decision variables are analyzed to improve exergy efficiency and minimize environmental pollutant emissions, yielding optimal conditions of 33% exergy efficiency and a thermal cost rate (TCR) of 0.9 $/s.
