This report describes a case of bilateral, simultaneous central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) in a young woman on oral contraceptive pills (OCP). A 21-year-old woman with a negative past medical history presented with sudden onset of bilateral decreased vision shortly after starting OCP. Comprehensive ocular examination revealed bilateral central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR), confirmed on retinal optical coherence tomography (OCT) and intravenous fluorescein angiography.

Considering data suggesting that the majority of children with the United States consume unhealthy diets, the growing interest in the consumption of limiting diets, as well as the insidious clinical presentation of nutritional deficiencies, this is a timely and highly relevant review.
Recent Findings: The underlying socioeconomic and medical circumstances that predispose to nutritional deficiencies in the Western world are covered.
Background: The impacts of cannabis legalization on driving under the influence of cannabis and driving under the influence of alcohol among adults and adolescents were examined in Ontario, Canada.
Methods: Data were sourced from adult (N=38,479) and adolescent (N=23,216) populations-based surveys (2001-2019). The associations between cannabis legalization and driving within an hour of using cannabis and driving within an hour of drinking two or more drinks of alcohol were quantified using logistic regression, with testing of multiplicative interactions between cannabis legalization and age and sex.
is a bacterial pathogen that tends to cause opportunistic infections, mainly in immune-compromised patients. In this case, we present a 69-year-old female who presented to the emergency department (ED) at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago on February 11th, 2022, after a mechanical fall. She had a medical history of metastatic lung cancer treated with chemotherapy, hypertension, pulmonary embolism, polysubstance abuse, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

A renovated hydrothermal method was adopted for synthesizing fluorescent carbon dots from ethylenediamine and glucose using a Teflon-lined simple autoclave in a GC oven. The resultant carbon dots were characterized via TEM, FTIR, UV-vis, particle size distribution, and EDX and evaluated in a fluorimeter as the sensing medium for mesotrione detection.

Diabetes influences health care economics, human quality of life, morbidity, and mortality, which were primarily seen extensively in developing countries. Uncontrolled DM, which results in consistent hyperglycemia, may lead to severe life-threatening complications such as nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy, and cardiovascular complications.

Cobra is the most common snake type in Asia and is responsible for a large number of mortalities particularly in rural areas. Plants are usually considered the most effective and easy-to-approach treatment for snake bites in rural areas of various countries.

Aquaculture systems are at risk of microplastic contamination due to various channels, which worsens the worldwide microplastic pollution problem. Organic contaminants in the environment can be absorbed by and interact with microplastic, increasing their toxicity and making treatment more challenging.

Background: Vaccine hesitancy is a significant global health concern, and mass vaccination is essential in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Undergraduate students need to be prioritized for vaccination as they continue their academic curriculum physically. However, limited research explores vaccine hesitancy and acceptance among undergraduate students in Bangladesh.

In the contemporary landscape of healthcare, the early and accurate prediction of diabetes has garnered paramount importance, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic where individuals with diabetes exhibit increased vulnerability. This research embarked on a mission to enhance diabetes prediction by employing state-of-the-art machine learning techniques. Initial evaluations highlighted the Support Vector Machines (SVM) classifier as a promising candidate with an accuracy of 76.

Monosaccharides and their glycosides, such as methyl α-d-mannopyranoside derivatives, play a significant role in the potential treatment of viral respiratory pathologies. This study was undertaken to investigate and assess the synthesis and spectral characterization of methyl α-d-mannopyranoside derivatives -, incorporating various aliphatic and aromatic groups.

Introduction: Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is an atypical parkinsonism caused by the intracerebral aggregation of the microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT) which is encoded by MAPT gene. Although PSP is a sporadic disease, MAPT mutations have been reported in rare cases.
Methods: Among 190 patients with PSP who were recruited by the Neurodegenerative Research Group at Mayo Clinic during 2009-2023, we identified two patients who fulfilled diagnostic criteria for PSP-Richardson's syndrome (PSP-RS) and harbor novel MAPT mutations.

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected human behavior, creating a need for individuals to be more cautious about health and safety protocols. People are becoming more aware of their surroundings and the importance of minimizing the risk of exposure to potential sources of infection. This shift in mindset is particularly important in indoor environments, especially hospitals, where there is a greater risk of virus transmission.

Background: Ontario has one of the highest rates of substance-related harms in Canada. Residential treatment programs in the province provide a variety of in-house treatment services to support the needs of individuals with substance use disorders (SUD). However, these programs are not standardized, often varying in the type, quality, and availability of services offered, including evidence-based interventions such as Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT).
