Synthesis, characterization, DNA binding interactions, DFT calculations, and Covid-19 molecular docking of novel bioactive copper(I) complexes developed via unexpected reduction of azo-hydrazo ligands.

In this work, we focused on the 3rd goal of the sustainable development plan: achieving good health and supporting well-being. Two redox-active hydrazo ligands namely, phenylcarbonohydrazonoyldicyanide (PCHD) and pyridin-4-ylcarbonohydrazonoyl-dicyanide (PyCHD), and their copper(I) complexes have been synthesized and characterized. The analytical data indicates the formation of copper(I) complexes despite starting with copper(II) perchlorate salt.

Synthesis of a Novel Unexpected Cu(II)-Thiazolidine Complex-X-ray Structure, Hirshfeld Surface Analysis, and Biological Studies.

An unexpected trinuclear Cu(II)-thiazolidine complex has been synthesized by mixing CuCl·2HO with the Schiff base ligand, 1-(((4,5-dihydrothiazol-2-yl)ethylidene)hydrazono)methyl)phenol , in ethanol. Unexpectedly, the reaction proceeded via the hydrolysis of the Schiff base , followed by cyclization to afford 3-methyl-5,6-dihydrothiazolo[3,2-][1,2,3]triazole (), then complexation with the Cu(II) salt, forming the trinuclear complex. The complex was characterized by means of FTIR spectra, elemental analysis, and X-ray crystallography.

Role of thigh circumference in predicting the fetal weight: Comparison with other ultrasound methods-A prospective observational study.

Aim: We aimed to evaluate the addition of fetal thigh circumference (TC) to other ultrasound parameters to predict fetal weight compared to two standard formulae (Hadlock's and Vintzileos methods).

Methods: We conducted this prospective study on pregnant women between November 2018 and September 2019. The actual fetal weight was estimated within 48 h of delivery; then, it was compared to the estimated fetal weight by ultrasound.

Characterization of human FcεRIα chain expression and gene copy number in humanized rat basophilic leukaemia (RBL) reporter cell lines.

Several laboratories have created rat basophil leukemia (RBL) cell lines stably transfected with the human high affinity IgE receptor (FcεRIH). More recently, humanized RBL cell lines saw the introduction of reporter genes such as luciferase (RS-ATL8) and DsRed (RBL NFAT-DsRed). These reporters are more sensitive than their parental non-reporter humanized RBL cell lines.

Background: Human brucellosis is a preventable zoonoses that may become persistent, causing, if left untreated, severe localized disease. Occupational exposure to infected animals or animal products and consumption of fresh contaminated dairy are main risk factors.

Methods: One hundred farmworkers employed at two cattle farms one in Khartoum North and one in Omdurman were screened for the presence of specific antibodies and seropositive workers were invited to donate a blood sample for blood culture.
