Chromatin exhibits non-random distribution within the nucleus being arranged into discrete domains that are spatially organized throughout the nuclear space. Both the spatial distribution and structural rearrangement of chromatin domains in the nucleus depend on epigenetic modifications of DNA and/or histones and structural elements such as the nuclear envelope. These components collectively contribute to the organization and rearrangement of chromatin domains, thereby influencing genome architecture and functional regulation.

A new modular, easy-to-synthesize photocatalyst was prepared by assembling colloidal CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QD) and gold nanoparticles (AuNP) via their ligands thanks to copper-catalyzed azide to alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) click chemistry. The resulting composite (QD-AuNP) photocatalyst was tested with a benchmark photoredox system previously reported by our group, for which QD alone acted as a photocatalyst but with a modest quantum yield (QY = 0.06%) and turnover number (TON = 350 in 3 h) due to poor charge separation.

: The purpose of this study is to investigate and compare the effects of the antimicrobial agents and bioactive glass nanoparticles activated by femtosecond laser light on the biomimetic dentin remineralization using teeth having carious dentin ICDAS code 3. : A total of 27 dentin surface samples were divided into three groups: the first group was treated with a extract, while the second group was treated with bioactive glass nanoparticles, and as for the control group, the third group received no additional agent. All groups were subjected to femtosecond laser light at three different wavelengths: 390 nm, 445 nm, and 780 nm.

Several types of Quantum Dots (QDs) (CdS, CdSe and InP, as well as core-shell QDs such as type I InP-ZnS, quasi type-II CdSe-CdS and inverted type-I CdS-CdSe) were considered for generating α-aminoalkyl free radicals. The feasibility of the oxidation of the N-aryl amines and the generation of the desired radical was evidenced experimentally by quenching of the photoluminescence of the QDs and by testing a vinylation reaction using an alkenylsulfone radical trap. The QDs were tested in a radical [3+3]-annulation reaction giving access to tropane skeletons and that requires the completion of two consecutive catalytic cycles.

BACKGROUND Left-sided acute appendicitis, although well described in the literature, is still an easily missed diagnosis. Midgut malrotation and situs inversus are 2 known leading conditions that contribute to misdiagnosis of appendicitis. CASE REPORT Here is the case of a 27-year-old male without any previous medical history, who presented with left lower quadrant tenderness and was misdiagnosed with gastroenteritis as an outpatient and sent home; the patient presented the next day to the emergency department where he was found to have acute appendicitis with situs inversus.
