Vaginal metastases of renal cell carcinoma have been rarely described. We report a case of a 75-year old woman, who underwent radical right nephrectomy for a renal cell carcinoma. Tumour was classified pT3bN0M0 and grade III of Furhmann grading.

The clinical presentation of perianal abscesses due to foreign bodies (FBs) impacted in the anal canal mimics common causes of acute anal pain. The diagnosis can be established by digital rectal examination and/or proctoscopy, but may miss the presence of an FB. Incision and drainage of the abscess, along with removal of the FB, results in immediate pain relief and cure.

The acute abdomen in pregnancy is a surgical emergency. Ectopic pregnancy and appendicitis are two causes of acute abdomen in pregnancy. Difficulties in correctly identifying the cause of the pain can be hazardous to the patient and care needs to be taken in obtaining a prompt and accurate diagnosis enabling the most appropriate management.
