The different clinical presentations of pediatric allergic fungal sinusitis.

In this paper, we aim to study the different clinical presentations of pediatric allergic fungal sinusitis (AFS) in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, and to review the experience in the diagnosis & management of AFS in children at King Fahad Specialist Hospital. This study is a retrospective case series of pediatric patients diagnosed and managed as AFS at a tertiary referral hospital in Saudi Arabia. The clinical presentation of pediatric AFS varies widely and includes unilateral, unilateral with proptosis, bilateral, alternating, isolated sphenoid and extensive with intracranial & intraorbital involvements.

The endonasal endoscopic management of pediatric lateral frontal mucocele.

Objectives: The aim of this report is to show the usefulness of endoscopic sinus surgery in management of lateral frontal mucocele in pediatric patient.

Case Presentation: A 14 years old girl presented with right frontal bone depression and headache. CT and MRI showed lateral mucocele occupying the right frontal sinus.

Pediatric allergic fungal rhinosinusitis with extensive intracranial extension - Case report and literature review.

Introduction: Over the last two decades, allergic fungal sinusitis (AFRS) has become increasingly common. It's defined as a noninvasive, benign inflammatory fungal disease of the sinuses which develops in young adults and adolescents. Patients often complain of symptoms like nasal obstruction, congestion, purulent or clear rhinorrhea, anosmia, and headache.

Bilateral simultaneous sino-nasal inverted papilloma; A report of two cases and literature review.

Introduction: Inverted Papilloma is a benign sinonasal tumor with a high recurrence rate and potential for malignant transformation, it typically presents as an obstructing unilateral nasal mass, atypical presentations include bilateral involvement which occurs in up to 5 % of cases.

Case Presentation: Here we present two different cases of bilateral inverted papilloma, both presented complaining of bilateral nasal obstruction, the second case also had associated nasal polyposis and history of multiple previous endoscopic sinus surgeries, both cases were managed with endoscopic medial maxillectomy and tumor removal, with no signs of recurrence on follow up.

Conclusion: Bilateral involvement is an uncommon, atypical presentation of inverted papilloma, endoscopic surgery is a safe, reliable approach and it is the mainstay of treatment, regular endoscopic and clinical follow up is important for detection of recurrence.

Endoscopic endonasal removal of a large fibrous dysplasia of the paranasal sinuses and skull base.

Fibrous dysplasia is a rare condition. We present a case of a 34-years-old man presented with left-sided facial pain, headache and nasal obstruction for a long duration. CT scan of the sinuses showed a mass occupying the left ethmoidal region abutting the orbit and skull base obstructing the left frontal sinus.

Ectopic intranasal canine tooth in a child: A rare case report and literature review.

Introduction: Intranasal teeth are a rare form of ectopic teeth. Their clinical manifestation are truly variable. In children, intranasal teeth are typically associated with cleft lip and alveolus.

Bilateral dentigerous cysts and ectopic teeth in the maxillary sinuses: A case report and literature review.

Introduction: Dentigerous cysts are the second most common form of benign odontogenic cysts. These cysts are commonly single lesions. Bilateral and multiple dentigerous cysts are very rare.

Pediatric alternating allergic fungal rhinosinusitis: A case report and literature review.

Objectives: to report the alternating nature of allergic fungal rhinosinusitis in children in the Eastern part of Saudi Arabia and to review the experience of King Fahad Specialist Hospital in the diagnosis and management of alternating allergic fungal rhinosinusitis in children. An 8 years old Saudi girl with alternating allergic fungal rhinosinusitis was diagnosed and managed. The patient was diagnosed to have unilateral left allergic fungal rhinosinusitis and underwent endoscopic sinus surgery and cleaning of the left sinuses from polyps, mud and mucin.
