This study examines the impact of malaria in eastern DR Congo, where armed conflict and humanitarian crises have resulted in overcrowded refugee and internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, exacerbating malaria transmission. Malnutrition, limited access to healthcare, and poor living conditions makes children under the age of five particularly vulnerable.

Acute tubulointerstitial nephritis associated with infliximab therapy in a patient with Crohn's disease: a case report.

We report the case of a 39-year-old man who presented with a history of generalized fatigue, nausea, subjective fever with rigors, and renal dysfunction after receiving infliximab (IFX) therapy for Crohn's disease. A renal biopsy revealed acute tubulointerstitial nephritis (ATIN). After other causes of acute kidney injury were excluded, steroid therapy was initiated, his fever subsided, and kidney function improved.

Introduction: Sickle cell disease (SCD) poses a significant global health burden, particularly affecting individuals in developing countries with constrained healthcare resources. While research on self-management in the context of SCD is emerging, it has predominantly focused on primary studies. The aim of the scoping review was to identify and map self-management needs of individuals living with SCD, the strategies they employed to meet those needs, and the support interventions available to them.

Background: The use of herbal medicine and/or its products is common throughout the world. In Tamale Metropolis, pregnant women frequently use local oxytocin to induce labour, as shown by the fact that 90% of midwives reported managing patients who used kaligutim (local oxytocin) to speed up labour. This retrospective study compared central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) rates per 1 000 central line days, and overall mortality before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in adult, paediatric, and neonatal ICU patients at King Abdul-Aziz Medical City-Riyadh who had a central line and were diagnosed with CLABSI according to the National Healthcare Safety Network standard definition. The study spanned between January 2018 and December 2019 (pre-pandemic), and January 2020 and December 2021 (pandemic). SARS-CoV-2 was confirmed by positive RT-PCR testing.

Methodology This study involved 159 faculty members and was conducted via a web-based survey and 13 in-depth interviews.
