We aimed to investigate the prevalence and spectrum of unusual benign neoplasms and tumor-like lesions presenting as vulvar polyps and papules, to study their clinical, pathologic, hormonal, and developmental features and whether they have important associations with other pathologic lesions or clinical diseases. We conducted a retrospective review study of 115 vulvar specimens over 7 years. Common lesions, for example, fibroepithelial polyps, skin tags, papillomas, abscesses, viral warts and common cysts, were excluded.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of and independent factors associated with joint involvement in a large population of patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc).
Methods: This study was cross-sectional, based on data collected on patients included in the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) Scleroderma Trials and Research (EUSTAR) registry. We queried this database to extract data regarding global evaluation of patients with SSc and the presence of any clinical articular involvement: synovitis (tender and swollen joints), tendon friction rubs (rubbing sensation detected as the tendon was moved), and joint contracture (stiffness of the joints that decreased their range of motion).
Leptin is involved not only in the regulation of food intake but also in other functions including reproduction. Because leptin has been demonstrated to influence ovarian steroidogenesis directly and leptin levels vary during the menstrual cycle and in stimulated cycles, we tested the hypothesis that serum or intrafollicular concentrations of leptin would correlate with reproductive outcomes in intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycles. Serum and follicular fluid samples were collected from 77 women undergoing ovarian stimulation, intracytoplasmic sperm injection and embryo transfer due to male factor infertility.

The DNA damage in human spermatozoa is a relevant predictor of prognosis in male infertility, whereby increased sperm DNA damage impairs the outcomes of artificial reproduction. Theoretically, DNA damage should alter the special cellular functions of human spermatozoa, and lead to diminished acrosome reaction with reduced fertilization rates.
