[Importance of heart rabdomioma in pediatric population. A 39 year experience. Case series].

Introducción: Los rabdomiomas son los tumores cardiacos benignos más prevalentes en la etapa fetal y durante la infancia. Objetivo: Nuestro objetivo es dar a conocer nuestra experiencia durante 39 años en pacientes pediátricos con rabdomioma en nuestra institución, así como enfatizar la importancia de su detección, estudio y control por la asociación que tiene con esclerosis tuberosa (ET). Material y métodos: Realizamos un estudio retrospectivo y descriptivo, de enero de 1980 a marzo del 2018.

[Cor Triatriatum Dexter: an unusual cause of neonatal cyanosis].

We present the case of a term newborn, with no significant perinatal history, who was taken to the emergency room at 18 days old for intermittent episodes of cyanosis, with no signs of respiratory distress, oxygensaturation of 85%, arterial gases with moderate hypoxemia, and chest X-ray.

Pregnancy in teenagers with heart disease.

The prevalence of pregnancy in adolescent women is high in Mexico and represents a public health problem. The pregnant teenager with heart disease has a high probability of complications during pregnancy and the delivery, which carries a risk of death of both the mother and the product. In many cases the pregnancy should have been avoided, planned or interrupted, however the majority at this age is vulnerable and although certain cases must be interrupted by their high risk of maternal-fetal death, prevention and legal aspects should be considered.

[Comparison of peak oxygen uptake and VE/VCO2 slope, between children with and without heart failure].

[Left ventricular longitudinal systolic strain in children with history of Kawasaki disease].

Objective: Kawasaki disease (KD) is a systemic vasculitis that affects young children. Coronary artery aneurisms, ectasia and stenosis are its main complications and may lead to ischemic heart disease or sudden death. Echocardiography evaluation it's mandatory in all patients with history of KD.

Anomalous origin of pulmonary branches from the ascending aorta. A report of five cases and review of the literature.

Unlabelled: The anomalous origin of pulmonary branches is a rare entity where, either the right or the left pulmonary arteries arise from the ascending aorta and where the aortic and pulmonary valves are separated. Clinical manifestations usually appear in the infant or, more rarely, in the newborn and include respiratory distress or congestive heart failure due to increased pulmonary resistance.The survival rate in an Indian series was 94% with the death of one patient from Fallot tetralogy.

[Aberrant right subclavian artery in children examined at the National Institute of Cardiology Ignacio Chavez (1992-2012)].

Objectives: Congenital vascular malformations of the major arteries in the chest have been classified into 5 groups: 1) double aortic arch; 2) right aortic arch with left ligament or persistent ductus arteriosus; 3) aberrant subclavian artery; 4) aberrant left pulmonary artery, and 5) anomalous innominate artery. We reviewed the patients with aberrant right subclavian artery and their treatment.

Methods: We studied retrospectively the records of 29 patients with aberrant right subclavian artery in childhood, from January 1992 to December 2012, analyzing the following variables: age at onset, clinical manifestations, associated cardiovascular defects, diagnosis and surgical approach method.
