Targeting biomedical applications, Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) gyroid sheet-based structures were successfully manufactured for the first time by Electron Beam Melting in two different production Themes, i.e., inputting a zero (Wafer Theme) and a 200 µm (Melt Theme) wall thickness.

For the first time, the synthesis of titanium carbonitrides by combustion was realized in nitrogen at atmospheric pressure. The synthesis was carried out by subjecting high-energy ball-milled titanium-carbon black powder mixtures to combustion in a nitrogen atmosphere.

The coatings with Al-Si-N solid solution, two-phase (AlSiN nanocrystallites embedded in the SiN tissue phase) and amorphous structure were obtained by varying Al/Si ratio. It is shown that polycrystalline coatings with a low Si content (AlSiN) are characterized by the highest thermal cycling resistance.
