Background: The original Latarjet-Patte procedure is a reliable procedure to treat traumatic anterior shoulder instability. However, attempts to reduce possible complications have led to the emergence of modified techniques. More prominently are the arthroscopic approach and the use of cortical-buttons for coracoid fixation.

To evaluate the functional results of patients submitted to reverse shoulder arthroplasty for the treatment of rotator cuff arthropathy refractory to conservative treatment.  A retrospective study of 20 patients (21 shoulders), 17 women (81%) and 3 men (19%), underwent a reverse shoulder arthroplasty between October 2012 and September 2017, for a rotator cuff arthropathy treatment, operated by a single surgeon in a single center. The patients were assessed using the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) score, the Short-Form (36) Health Survey (SF-36), the visual analogue scale (VAS) of pain rating, and the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) score.

Objective: To evaluate the outcomes of patients that underwent arthroscopic surgery for lateral epicondylitis (LE), after failed conservative treatment.

Methods: One hundred four patients with LE treated with arthroscopic debridement of the extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB) tendon were enrolled in this retrospective study. They were evaluated using Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) score, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) scale.

Objective: The cause of anterior shoulder instability is not fully understood and surgical management remains controversial. The objective of this study was to evaluate the results of patients undergoing arthroscopic Latarjet procedure with endobuttons.

Methods: A retrospective study of 26 patients undergoing arthroscopic Latarjet procedure with endobuttons to treat anterior shoulder instability.

Objectives: To evaluate the results of patients undergoing arthroscopic surgical treatment for snapping scapula syndrome.

Methods: This is a retrospective study of 11 patients undergoing scapulothoracic arthroscopy for the treatment of snapping scapula syndrome. The study included patients with clinical diagnosis of snapping scapula syndrome who did not show pain improvement after at least six months of physical therapy.

Background: The study purpose was to evaluate the outcomes of patients who received arthroscopic surgical treatment for medial epicondylitis refractory to conservative treatment.

Methods: This was a retrospective study of 7 patients who underwent arthroscopic surgical débridement of the common flexor tendon for treatment of medial epicondylitis refractory to conservative treatment. The patients were assessed using the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand score; visual analog scale for pain; and Short Form 36 Health Survey.

Snapping scapula syndrome has several etiologies, including subscapular osteochondroma. When this tumor needs to be removed, this can be done arthroscopically, a procedure that has restricted indications. The authors present a case of a patient with superomedial subscapular osteochondroma who underwent a scapulothoracic arthroscopy for its removal.

Objective: To evaluate the results of patients undergoing arthroscopic surgical treatment of refractory lateral epicondylitis, identifying poor prognosis factors.

Methods: A retrospective study of 44 patients (47 elbows) who underwent arthroscopic debridement of the extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB) tendon to treat refractory lateral epicondylitis from February 2013 to February 2015, operated by a single surgeon at one center. Patients were assessed by DASH score, visual analog scale of pain (VAS), and ShortForm 36 (SF-36).

Objective: To evaluate the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) without contrast as a diagnostic method of partial lesions of the long head of the biceps, using arthroscopic surgery as the gold standard.

Methods: We evaluated data from MRI and arthroscopic surgical findings of patients operated due to rotator cuff and SLAP injuries. MRI without contrast of at least 1.

Objective: To assess the repair results of acromioclavicular dislocations (ACJD) grades III and V, with anchors without eyelet, when compared with other techniques, and to evaluate factors that can affect the final result.

Methods: A retrospective study of 36 patients with ACJD grades III and V in the Rockwood classification, 12 treated with anchors without eyelet, 11 with one tightrope, six with two tightropes, and six with subcoracoid cerclage, operated from September 2012 to February 2015. Patients were assessed radiographically and through DASH, UCLA, the visual analog scale of pain (VAS) and the Short-Form 36 (SF-36).

Objective: To evaluate the clinical results among patients undergoing arthroscopic repair of circumferential labral lesions.

Methods: This was a retrospective study on 10 patients who underwent arthroscopic repair to circumferential labral lesions of the shoulder, between September 2012 and September 2015. The patients were evaluated by means of the Carter-Rowe score, DASH score, UCLA score, visual analog scale (VAS) for pain and Short-Form 36 (SF36).

We report on (i) new group formation, (ii) sex differences in dispersal and (iii) dispersal distance over 6 years for 3 social groups of the black-faced lion tamarin (Leontopithecus caissara) in the vicinity of Ariri, São Paulo state, Brazil. The groups were: Bina (monitored for 74 months), BM5 (52 months) and Teca (13 months). Each group was censused once a week and monitored for 3 days each month.

Objective: Treating brachial plexus injuries is a major challenge, especially lesions that are presented late, with more than 12 months of evolution. We retrospectively analyzed patients who underwent one of the possibilities for attempting to restore the function of upper limbs affected under such conditions: microsurgical transfer of the gracilis muscle for elbow flexion.

Methods: Eight patients were included, divided into two groups: one in which the procedure consisted of neurorrhaphy of the muscle flap with sural nerve grafting and anastomosis more distally; and the other, in which the neurorrhaphy was performed directly on the spinal accessory nerve, with anastomosis in thoracoacromial vessels.

The critically endangered black-faced lion tamarin, Leontopithecus caissara, has a restricted geographical distribution consisting of small mainland and island populations, each with distinct habitats in coastal southeastern Brazil. Necessary conservation management actions require an assessment of whether differences in habitats are reflected in use of space by the species. We studied two tamarin groups on the mainland at São Paulo state between August 2005 and March 2007, and compared the results with data from Superagui Island.
