Purpose: We evaluated the outcome of repeat transurethral bladder tumor resection for high risk nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer before induction and maintenance bacillus Calmette-Guerin.

Materials And Methods: Included in the study were 151 consecutive patients with a mean age of 68.6 years (range 32 to 86) with primary high grade, nonmuscle invasive (Ta, T1 or CIS) bladder cancer.

Objective: We investigated whether an intrafascial approach to prostatectomy would provide significantly improved outcomes compared with retropubic and laparoscopic approaches. We performed 50 radical prostatectomies with an intrafascial, nerve-sparing, laparoscopic, robot-assisted extraperitoneal approach.

Methods: From December 2007 to June 2008, 50 consecutive patients underwent nerve sparing surgery using the intrafascial technique with robotic assistance.

Background: Although the first laparoscopic radical prostatectomy was performed in 1997, few midterm oncologic data have been published for the extraperitoneal procedure.

Objective: To determine the oncologic outcome of extraperitoneal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (ELRP).

Design, Setting, And Participants: From 2000 to 2007, 1115 consecutive patients underwent ELRP for a localized prostate cancer at our department.

Purpose: To compare operating room times between retroperitoneal robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALRP) and pure retroperitoneal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP).

Patients And Methods: From March 2007 to April 2008, 288 patients underwent an extraperitoneal LRP in our institution. Eighty-three LRPs were performed with robot assistance using the da Vinci Surgical System (RALRP) whereas 205 pure LRPs were performed.

Amyloidosis of the seminal vesicles is a rare cause of haemospermia. The authors report the case of a 42-year-old patient with recurrent haemospermia over a period of 2 years and abnormalities of one seminal vesicle on ultrasonography and MRI, justifying laparoscopic resection. Histological examination demonstrated localized amyloidosis, secondary to inflammation.

Bladder tumour is rare in children and usually corresponds to embryonic rhabdomyosarcoma. However one of the differential diagnoses is inflammatory pseudotumour of the bladder which is a benign lesion with a good prognosis. The authors report the case of a 3-year-old boy who presented with macroscopic haematuria related to a lesion of the anterior bladder wall.
