Introduction The Meds to Beds (MTB) program aims to enhance medication adherence and reduce hospital readmissions by delivering prescribed medications directly to patients' bedsides before discharge. This study evaluated the effectiveness of the MTB program in reducing 90-day readmission rates in a community teaching hospital. Methods This prospective study was conducted at a 159-bed community teaching hospital in Boston, MA.

Here, using perovskite solar cells (PSCs) as test bed, we demonstrate an unprecedented photonic method to generate any color on a cell layout, while also increasing PV efficiency. To this end, photonic surface features were designed for PSCs, which filled the dual purpose of light-trapping (LT) and modulation of reflected light interference.

In this work, a 4-band k.p-based method was developed for rock-salt quantum dots (QDs) that describes the complete optical properties of arbitrary QD@Host systems, trailblazing the way for the full optoelectronic analysis of quantum-structured solar cells.

Conventional techniques for SARS-CoV-2 detection have limitations, as high cost, low specificity, and longer analysis time, among others. Biosensors emerge as a necessary alternative to overcome the difficulties of current diagnostics.

When located at the front, they may act as a UV barrier, which is paramount for protecting the perovskite layer against UV-enabled degradation. Although it was recently shown that photonic structures such as Escher-like patterns could approach the theoretical Lambertian-limit of light trapping, it remains challenging to also implement UV protection properties for these diffractive structures while maintaining broadband absorption gains.

Diatoms exhibit very efficient NPQ, accompanied by a xanthophyll cycle in which diadinoxanthin is de-epoxidized into diatoxanthin. Diatoms accumulate pigments from this cycle in high light, and exhibit faster and more pronounced NPQ.

Observation: A 67-year-old woman was diagnosed with severe mucosal PV, which was initially misdiagnosed as atypical Behçet's disease. Following an unsuccessful colchicine treatment, significant improvement was observed upon the introduction of apremilast: reduced pain, fewer lesions, and a stabilized weight.
Background: Analytical treatment interruption (ATI) is the gold standard in HIV research for assessing the capability of new therapeutic strategies to control viremia without antiretroviral treatment (ART). The viral setpoint is commonly used as endpoint to evaluate their efficacy. However, in line with recommendations from a consensus meeting, to minimize the risk of increased viremia without ART, trials often implement short ATI phases and stringent virological ART restart criteria.

Diagnosis is confirmed after surgical removal of the mass. To our knowledge, to date there has been only one case of thyroid choristoma described in the literature.

The aim of this observational, cross-sectional, survey-based study was to evaluate the impact of AD on the daily lives of adult women patients. A scientific committee composed exclusively of women constructed a specific questionnaire in partnership with the French Eczema Association.

This study conducted in Sergipe State, Brazil, aimed to investigate the presence of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the surface water of five rivers, determining their sources, spatial and temporal variations, and ecotoxicological risks. Correlation and principal component analyses were utilized to identify the relationship between PAH concentrations and water sample properties. Results indicated higher PAH concentrations during the rainy season, attributed to increased run-off and sediment resuspension.

According to the vulnerable populations conceptual model (VPCM) nursing theory, vulnerable groups such as survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) are at risk for disease, morbidity, and mortality due to limited resources. The purpose of this article is to propose the VPCM as an organizing theoretical framework in the acute care setting of trauma patients suffering from IPV by outlining the factors affecting the care of this vulnerable population.

Background: Craniopharyngioma (CP) is a rare tumor, leading to several post-treatment sequelae which may have significant clinical and social implications, including impaired academic performance or employability.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study involving CP patients followed at our center between 1986 and 2020. Data on demographics, clinical, imaging, and treatment characteristics were collected from the clinical records.
Background: For several years, the AXL tyrosine kinase receptor, a member of the Tyro3-Axl-Mer (TAM) family, has been considered a new strategic target in oncology. AXL overexpression is common in solid tumors and is associated with poor prognosis. In this context, the detection of a subset of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) that express AXL (AXL CTCs) could be clinically relevant.

Method: Children under 18 years of age with severe neurological impairment, who were hospitalized between January 2006 and December 2016, were included in this retrospective study. They were allocated to a withholding group or a control group, depending on whether life support was withheld or not, before admission to the PICU.
