Mature teratoma of the ovary is the most common primary ovarian tumor accounting for 15% (10%-20%) of all ovarian neoplasms. Skin and skin adnexal structures are the most common elements identified in mature teratomas. Benign and malignant skin tumors can arise in ovarian teratomas, the most common being epithelial tumors.

Vulval Microglandular Adenosis-like Neoplasm With Chondromyxoid Stroma: Report of a Unique Case.

Microglandular adenosis of the breast is an uncommon lesion which can mimic tubular carcinoma. It is composed of small round tubules lined by a single layer of flat or cuboidal epithelial cells, often with eosinophilic colloid-like material within the lumen. The absence of a myoepithelial cell layer and preservation of basement membrane around the tubules are characteristic features.

The immunohistochemical expression of CD24 and CD171 adhesion molecules in borderline ovarian tumors.

CD24 and CD171 are cell adhesion proteins, which have been shown to be overexpressed in several carcinomas and to be associated with a poor clinical outcome. Our aim was to determine the expression of these two adhesion molecules in ovarian borderline neoplasms. We investigated 50 ovarian borderline tumors (serous, mucinous and endometrioid) as well as 29 benign cystadenomas and 25 carcinomas, which were used as controls.
