Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the remineralization potential of primary teeth enamel after being exposed to different laser diode therapies.

Methods: Ninety-six vestibular primary teeth enamel samples were divided into eight groups ( = 12) with varying treatments: control (G1), CPP-ACP-fluoride varnish (G2), diode lasers at 980 nm (G3), 808 nm (G4), 450 nm (G5), 980 nm + CPP-ACP-fluoride varnish (G6), 808 nm + CPP-ACP-fluoride varnish (G7), and 450 nm + CPP-ACP-fluoride varnish (G8). Each sample was assessed using a DIAGNOdent (KaVo Dental, Biberach, Germany), at baseline, post-treatment, and post-pH cycle remineralization.

Article Synopsis
  • The study analyzed the causes of carcass and organ condemnations in a cattle slaughterhouse and estimated the resulting financial losses over a two-year period, surveying over 151,000 cattle.
  • It found that 13.27% of carcasses had lesions, with 1.15% completely condemned, while various abnormalities were noted in 12.28% of livers, 7.56% of lungs, 1.89% of hearts, and 0.27% of kidneys.
  • Financial losses from condemnations totaled approximately EUR 4,021,717.3, indicating the significance of post-mortem inspections for public health and economic impacts.

The aim of this study was to assess the hygiene of pork, beef, and poultry carcasses and to determine the phenotypic antibiotic susceptibility of the bacteria embedded in the biofilm formed on the carcasses kept in cooling chambers for at least three days. The level of hygiene was assessed by determining the total aerobic colony count (TACC) and the level in different sampling points of the carcasses, along with the detection of and spp. embedded in the biofilm.

Campylobacteriosis is recognized as one of the most common food-borne zoonoses, with worldwide distribution, having undercooked poultry meat and other cross-contaminated foodstuffs as the main sources of human infections. The current study aimed to provide data on the occurrence of the thermophilic spp. in seven broiler chicken flocks, from three north-western Transylvanian counties of Romania, as well as to determine the antimicrobial resistance profile of the isolated strains.
