Background: The preseason is a crucial time period for professional athletes to prepare for the upcoming season. However, due to the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the 2020 National Football League (NFL) preseason was canceled. As the regular season progressed, an increased number of injuries became apparent.

Physician reported outcomes of hip arthroscopy without a perineal post: an international survey.

Although the current literature reports an acceptable rate of complications with the use of a perineal post in hip arthroscopy, they are still possible and preventable. The purpose of this study was to survey International Society for Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA) members on their use of postless distraction in hip arthroscopy. A 19-question survey was emailed to hip preservation surgeons that are members of ISHA.

Conservative Treatment of Avulsion Injuries of the Lesser Trochanter in Adolescent Athletes.

Background:  Avulsion injuries of the lesser trochanter apophysis are relatively uncommon injuries and there have been no peer-reviewed case series dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of this injury. The purpose of this study is to characterize avulsion injuries of the lesser trochanter apophysis, review treatment protocols, and time to return to sport.  Methods: We reviewed 30 confirmed avulsion fractures of the lesser trochanter.

A technique for an arthroscopic proximal biceps tenodesis using a fork anchor.

Pathology to the proximal biceps tendon has the potential to be a major source of pain in the shoulder, secondary to complex superior labrum from anterior to posterior (SLAP) lesions, partial biceps tears, and subluxations. In order to restore function and improve the patient's quality of life, repair of these injuries is crucial. Tenodesis has long been the ideal treatment of persistent pain caused by pathology of the proximal biceps tendon.

Dynamic Adduction Angle of Forefoot Measured With a Novel Technique And Its Relationship With Functional Outcomes.

Background: Idiopathic clubfoot is commonly treated with the Ponseti method with the extent of invasive treatment involving tendon-Achilles lengthening. Forefoot adduction is a common complication in surgically treated clubfeet. Yet, no method has been described to measure dynamic (walking) forefoot adduction.

Percutaneous distraction lengthening in brachymetacarpia.

Brachymetacarpia is a condition manifesting a shortened metacarpal that is caused by early closure of the epiphyseal plate and believed to arise idiopathically. The correction for brachymetacarpia is usually for cosmetic reasons as brachymetacarpia does not impair function. The literature indicates several different approaches to lengthening digits, including single-stage lengthening and rapid distraction lengthening with a bone graft.
