Prevalence and associated factors of cerebral microbleeds in a rural population of the United States.

Objective: Cerebral microbleeds (CMBs) can carry an advanced risk for the development and burden of cerebrovascular and cognitive disorders. Large-scale population-based studies are required to identify the at-risk population.

Method: Ten percent (N = 3,056) of the Geisinger DiscovEHR Initiative Cohort participants who had brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for any indication were randomly selected.

Choice of coils for a fusion reactor.

In a fusion reactor a hot plasma of deuterium and tritium is confined by a strong magnetic field to produce helium ions and release energetic neutrons. The 3D geometry of a stellarator provides configurations for such a device that reduce net toroidal current that might lead to disruptions. We construct smooth coils generating an external magnetic field designed to prevent the plasma from deteriorating.
