Targeted neonatal echocardiography training: a survey of trainees in a region of England.

Targeted neonatal echocardiography (TNE) is an important skill to advise diagnosis and management. Training in TNE is currently optional for neonatal subspecialty (grid) trainees and accessing training is often challenging. We disseminated a survey, asking neonatal grid trainees for their views on TNE training.

Maintaining Normothermia in Preterm Babies during Stabilisation with an Intact Umbilical Cord.

Background: We had experienced an increase in admission hypothermia rates during implementation of deferred cord clamping (DCC) in our unit. Our objective was to reduce the number of babies with a gestation below 32 weeks who are hypothermic on admission, whilst practising DCC and providing delivery room cuddles (DRC).

Method: A 12 month quality improvement project set, in a large Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, from January 2020 to December 2020.

Identifying pain-related concerns in routine follow-up clinics following oral and oropharyngeal cancer.

Aim: To describe clinical characteristics of head and neck cancer (HNC) patients with pain and those wishing to discuss pain concerns during consultation.

Methods: Cross-sectional, questionnaire study using University of Washington Quality of Life, version 4 (UW-QOL) and the Patients Concerns Inventory (PCI) in disease-free, post-treatment HNC cohort. Significant pain on UW-QOL and indicating "Pain in head and neck" and "Pain elsewhere" on PCI.
