Background: Estimating how type 2 diabetes (T2D) affects the rate of depression in cardiovascular disease (CVD) can help identify high-risk patients. The aim is to investigate how T2D affects the rate of depression according to specific subtypes of CVD.
Methods: Incident CVD patients, free of psychiatric disease, with and without T2D, were included from nationwide registries between 2010 and 2020.

Background: Whether frailty influences the initiation of two cardioprotective diabetes drug therapies (ie, SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists) in people with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease is unknown. We aimed to assess rates of initiation of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists according to frailty in people with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Methods: For this cross-sectional, nationwide study, all people with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in Denmark between Jan 1, 2015, and Dec 31, 2021, from six Danish health-data registers were identified.
Background: Due to improved management, diagnosis, and care of myocardial infarction (MI), patients may now survive long enough to increasingly develop serious noncardiovascular conditions.
Objectives: This study aimed to test this hypothesis by investigating the temporal trends in noncardiovascular morbidity and mortality following MI.
Methods: We conducted a registry-based nationwide cohort study of all Danish patients with MI during 2000 to 2017.
Aims/hypothesis: We aimed to examine whether individuals with initial omission of glucose-lowering drug treatment (GLDT), including those achieving initial remission of type 2 diabetes, may experience a higher risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) compared with well-controlled individuals on GLDT after a new type 2 diabetes diagnosis in real-world clinical practice. Furthermore, we examined whether a higher risk could be related to lower initiation of statins and renin-angiotensin system inhibitors (RASi).
Methods: In this cohort study, we used Danish registers to identify individuals with a first measured HbA between 48 and 57 mmol/mol (6.
Background Guidelines recommend that patients with myocardial infarction (MI) receive equal care regardless of age. However, withholding treatment may be justified in elderly and frail patients. This study aimed to investigate trends in treatments and outcomes of older patients with MI according to frailty.

Therefore, we investigated the risk of discontinuing SGLT2-is and GLP1-RAs in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) in a nationwide population.
Methods: From Danish nationwide registers, all first-time users of SGLT2-is and GLP1-RAs from 2013 to 2021 were identified.
Background For frail patients with limited life expectancy, time in hospital following transcatheter aortic valve replacement is an important measure of quality of life; however, data remain scarce. Thus, we aimed to investigate frailty and its relation to time in hospital during the first year after transcatheter aortic valve replacement. Methods and Results From 2008 to 2020, all Danish patients who underwent transcatheter aortic valve replacement and were alive at discharge were included.

However, data on plasma concentrations of these antibiotics during HD are sparse. This study aims to determine if the plasma concentration of amoxicillin and clindamycin is sufficient during HD after oral administration of amoxicillin and clindamycin at three different time intervals prior to the HD procedure.

Aim: We investigated temporal trends in major cardiovascular events following first-time myocardial infarction (MI) and trends in revascularization and pharmacotherapy from 2000 to 2017.
Methods And Results: Using nationwide registries, we identified 120 833 Danish patients with a first-time MI between 2000 and 2017. We investigated 30-day and 1-year mortality and the 1-year risk of first-time admission for heart failure (HF) and recurrent MI.
Background: Low socioeconomic position may affect initiation of sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT-2i) and glucacon-like-peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA) among patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). We examined the association between socioeconomic position and initiation of SGLT-2i or GLP-1RA in patients with T2D at time of first intensification of antidiabetic treatment.
Methods: Through nationwide registers, we identified all Danish patients on metformin who initiated second-line add-on therapy between December 10, 2012, and December 31, 2020.
Aims: The association between socioeconomic position and cardiovascular disease has not been well studied in patients with type 2 diabetes. We aimed to examine the association between socioeconomic position and first-time major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Methods And Results: Through the Danish nationwide registers, we identified all residents with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes between 2012 and 2017.

Background: Risk stratification of patients in the emergency department can be strengthened using prognostic biomarkers, but the impact on patient prognosis is unknown. The aim of the TRIAGE III trial was to investigate whether the introduction of the prognostic and nonspecific biomarker: soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) for risk stratification in the emergency department reduces mortality in acutely admitted patients.
Methods: The TRIAGE III trial was a cluster-randomized interventional trial conducted at emergency departments in the Capitol Region of Denmark.
Background: Midregional proadrenomedullin (MR-proADM) has demonstrated prognostic potential after myocardial infarction (MI). Yet, the prognostic value of MR-proADM at admission has not been examined in patients with ST-segment-elevation MI (STEMI).
Methods And Results: The aim of this substudy, DANAMI-3 (The Danish Study of Optimal Acute Treatment of Patients with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction), was to examine the associations of admission concentrations of MR-proADM with short- and long-term mortality and hospital admission for heart failure in patients with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction.
Passive anti-beta-amyloid (Aß) immunotherapy has been shown to clear brain Aß deposits. Results from phase III clinical trials in mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients with two monoclonal antibodies bapineuzumab and solanezumab and intravenous immunoglobulin have been disappointing. Subsequent analysis of pooled data from both phase III trials with solanezumab showed a reduction in cognitive decline in patients with mild AD.
