Detectable metastasis at the time of initial diagnosis of uveal melanoma (UM) is rare. The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the characteristics and outcomes in patients with metastatic UM (MUM) at initial diagnosis. An institutional review board-approved retrospective case series analysis was performed in 21 patients that presented for management of MUM at initial diagnosis.
