Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a life-threatening complication of diabetes mellitus. Sodium-glucose co-transport inhibitors (SGLT-2i), a treatment for type 2 diabetes, have demonstrated a survival benefit in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Many patients with HFrEF have been started on SGLT-2i and sometimes transitioned off insulin due to improved glycaemic control.

A 19-year-old woman with no medical history who did not use tobacco presented to the hospital with post-COVID-19 cough for 2 months and new onset of shortness of breath and blood-tinged sputum. She was initially treated empirically for community-acquired pneumonia because her chest radiograph showed a right upper lobe infiltrate. Further CT scan imaging revealed a right hilar lymph node conglomerate and extensive lymphadenopathy.

In this report, we discuss the cases of two patients with scleroderma and Raynaud's phenomenon who developed artifactual hypoglycemia while recovering from critical illness. In both cases, validation by earlobe measurements helped avoid further escalation of care and potential patient safety issues.

The management of tumor-related epilepsy (TRE) and optimizing antiepileptic drug (AED) regimens requires collaboration between neurologists and seizure specialists, which is facilitated by seizure documentation in clinic notes. We aim to describe seizure incidence in patients seen in neuro-oncology clinical practice.
