Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a stage of cognitive decline influenced by various risk factors, with limited research specifically in the elderly population of Kerala, South India.
The study aims to identify significant neuropathological comorbid conditions and assess additional risk factors, such as laboratory results and psychosocial aspects, in elderly MCI patients.
Findings show that factors like female gender, higher depression, more medications, and lower education levels are associated with MCI, while a history of alcohol use appears to be negative; Parkinson's disease was the most common neuropathological diagnosis noted.
