Mechanical stimuli have multiple effects on cell behavior, affecting a number of cellular processes including orientation, proliferation or apoptosis, migration and invasion, the production of extracellular matrix proteins, the activation and translocation of transcription factors, the expression of different genes such as those involved in inflammation and the reprogramming of cell fate. The recent development of cell stretching devices has paved the way for the study of cell reactions to stretching stimuli, reproducing physiological situations that are experienced by cells in many tissues and related to functions such as breathing, heart beating and digestion. In this work, we review the highly-relevant contributions cell stretching devices can provide in the field of mechanobiology.

Single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) data and adoptive transfer of alloreactive T cells after transplantation showed that cytotoxic CD8+ T cells are reprogrammed within the accepted graft to an exhausted/regulatory-like phenotype mediated by IFN-γ. Establishment of rTLOs was required because adoptive transfer of alloreactive T cells prior to transplantation results in kidney allograft rejection.

The Mouse Models in Transplantation symposium gathered scientists and physician-scientists involved in basic and clinical research in transplantation to discuss the strengths and limitations of mouse transplant models and strategies to enhance their utility. Introduction: Superficial folliculitis of the scalp (SFS) is a common complaint in clinical practice, and initial presentation may be difficult to differentiate as they may appear very similar to each other.
Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to describe the pathologies that occur clinically as folliculitis of the scalp, identify their causes and characteristics and create a standardized classification.
Methods: This is a retrospective clinical, dermoscopic and histopathological study over 10 years of dermatologic consultations.
Aberrant splicing events are associated with colorectal cancer (CRC) and provide new opportunities for tumor diagnosis and treatment. The expression of the splice variants of NF-YA, the DNA binding subunit of the transcription factor NF-Y, is deregulated in multiple cancer types compared to healthy tissues. NF-YAs and NF-YAl isoforms differ in the transactivation domain, which may result in distinct transcriptional programs.
