Targeted vasopeptide therapies have significantly advanced the management of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). However, due to insufficient preclinical evidence regarding the involvement of the endothelin-1 (ET-1) pathway in chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) pathophysiology, the potential of ET-1 receptor antagonism in treating CTEPH remains uncertain. In this study, we investigated the role of the ET-1 pathway in CTEPH microvasculopathy using a multifaceted approach.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are promising markers due to their stability and differential expression patterns in various diseases. However, their role in pediatric B-ALL patients, particularly in risk stratification and relapse prediction, remains poorly understood.

Background: Deregulation in the urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPA/uPAR) system is reported in many diseases where the immune system is activated. During SARS-CoV-2 infection, a rise in soluble uPAR (suPAR) levels has been detected and its concentration above 6 µg/L predicts worsening to severe respiratory failure 14 days earlier, with a positive predictive value of 85.9%, and was the prerequisite for a treatment with anakinra, a recombinant IL-1 receptor antagonist that blocks the activity of both IL-1α and IL-1β.

Development of a rapid risk evaluation tool for herbs/drugs interactions in cancer patients: a multicentric experience in south of France.

Cancer patients use herbs in spite of severe interactions risks with major anticancer drugs. In daily practice, it is very difficult for oncologists to detect and define the risk of a herb-anticancer drug interaction (HDI). In this work, we realised a state of play in one of the most populated region of France by evaluating, through a specific questionnaire, the position of a representative panel of oncologists.
