The crystal structures and hyperfine magnetic parameters of EuFe(BO) and mixed EuLaFe(BO) were studied over a wide temperature range in order to analyze correlations of the structural and magnetic features and the phase transitions in multiferroic compounds of the rare-earth iron borate family. The chemical compositions of the crystals are reported from X-ray fluorescence analysis. The crystal structures of EuFe(BO) and EuLaFe(BO) were determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction in the temperature range 25-500 K.

Objective: To develop and try out a convenient and accessible for use technology for testing the pulmonary function in children and adults, including in patients with chronic bronchopulmonary pathology.

Material And Methods: The article presents the results of Lazarev sound-breathing test (LST) in different cohorts of children and adults, including pregnant women and children suffering from chronic bronchopulmonary diseases, in particular cystic fibrosis.

Results: A direct dependence of the LST indicators' level from the age of children and adolescents has been obtained.

The conductive properties of fluorite-like structures KLnMoOF (Ln = La, Pr, Nd: KLM, KPM, KNM) have been studied theoretically and experimentally. Theoretical studies included the geometrical-topological analysis of voids and channels available for migration of working ions; bond valence site energy calculations of the oxygen ions' migration energy; quantum-chemical calculations for the estimation of the oxygen vacancies formation energy. In this study, we examined the effect of synanthropic house mouse () urine odor on catching probability of small mammals to live traps. We conducted a series of field experiments in August 2016 and 2017 in a natural forests of the northwestern Moscow Region (Russia). Oxygen breathing at elevated partial pressures (PO's) at or more than 3 atmospheres absolute (ATA) causes a reduction in brain γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels that impacts the development of central nervous system oxygen toxicity (CNS-OT). Drugs that increase brain GABA content delay the onset of CNS-OT, but it is unknown if oxidant damage is lessened because brain tissue PO remains elevated during hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) exposures. The fast catalytic pyrolysis of polystyrene in the hydrocarbon medium (light and heavy cycle oil) over zeolite catalysts at 450-550 °C was investigated. The influence of reaction conditions (medium, temperature, vapor residence time, polystyrene concentration) on polymer conversion and product distribution was studied. It was found that the polymer conversion is close to 100%, while ethylbenzene, benzene, and toluene are the main products of its transformation.

We studied the reaction of rat hippocampal microgliocytes to hyperbaric oxygen at a pressure of 5 ata (absolute atmosphere). Immunohistochemical analysis with selective macrophage marker CD68 (ED1) and microglial marker Iba-1 allowed separate analysis of these two cell populations. It was shown that macrophages do not significantly contribute to reactive changes in the total pool of Iba-1 hippocampal cells induced by hyperbaric oxygen.

Cancer cell lines responded differentially to type I interferon treatment in models of oncolytic therapy using vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). Two opposite cases were considered in this study, glioblastoma DBTRG-05MG and osteosarcoma HOS cell lines exhibiting resistance and sensitivity to VSV after the treatment, respectively. Type I interferon responses were compared for these cell lines by integrative analysis of the transcriptome, proteome, and RNA editome to identify molecular factors determining differential effects observed.

Ethyl cellulose (EC) was filled with bentonite (Bent) particles by mechanical dispersion to produce composite film materials that were studied using various methods. According to X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, the inter-chain separation length was larger in EC/Bent composite then those in pure polymer. Analysis of the age-related dynamics of olfactory behavior in the odor preference and food search testsshowed that all male Wistar rats, regardless of age, preferred valerian essential oil, whose components have the properties of pheromones in rodents, when given a selection of eight essential oils; young rats displayed better food-seeking results than adult and old animals. Acute prenatal hypoxia (PH) on E14 (7% O for 3 h) led to impairment of the valerian odor preference at all ages studied and to decreased productivity of food searches. Neurodegenerative processes were seen in the piriform cortex after PH, with reductions in the number of neurons and increases in glial elements.

When describing variation at the lexical level in sign languages, researchers often distinguish between phonological and lexical variants, using the following principle: if two signs differ in only one of the major phonological components (handshape, orientation, movement, location), then they are considered phonological variants, otherwise they are considered separate lexemes. We demonstrate that this principle leads to contradictions in some simple and more complex cases of variation. We argue that it is useful to visualize the relations between variants as graphs, and we describe possible networks of variants that can arise using this visualization tool.

In this study, an ionic liquid (IL), 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate, was used to prepare ionogels with microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) and halloysite (Hal). SEM, XRD, TG, DSC, FTIR spectroscopy, conductometry and mechanical tests were used to study the morphology, structure, thermal behaviour and electrophysical and mechanical characteristics of synthesised ionogels. XRD analysis showed a slight decrease in the interlayer space of halloysite in ionogels containing MCC, which may have been associated with the removal of residual water molecules resulting from hydrophilic IL anions and polymer macromolecules.

Analysis of the results of theoretical and experimental studies of hydrogen accumulation in graphene materials confirms the possibility of creating on their basis systems for reversible hydrogen storage, which combine high capacity, stability, and the possibility of rapid hydrogen evolution under conditions acceptable for practical use. Recent advances in the development of chemically and heat-resistant graphene-based membrane materials make it possible to create new gas separation membranes that provide high permeability and selectivity and are promising for hydrogen purification in processes of its production from natural gas.
