Aim: A search for new methods for diagnosing clinically significant prostate cancer is of importance due to the insufficient accuracy of modern methods in detecting aggressive tumors. One of the promising opportunities for the early diagnosis of clinically significant prostate cancer is the assessment of the glycolytic profile of the tumor by determining the expression of monocarboxylates (MCT) types 1 and 4 in tumor cells, as well as in adjacent stromal cells.
Materials And Methods: An analysis of patients of who underwent radical prostatectomy at the Institute of Urology and Reproductive Health of Sechenov University from 2015 to 2017 was carried out.
The numerical simulation of the development of a streamer discharge in a gap with an external longitudinal magnetic field was used to demonstrate the self-focusing of such discharges. Self-focusing is caused by a sharp deceleration of the radial ionization wave due to a change in the electron energy distribution function, a decrease in the average electron energy, the rate of gas ionization, and the electron mobility in crossed electric and magnetic fields as compared to the case of the discharge development without a magnetic field. The self-focusing effect of a streamer discharge in an external longitudinal magnetic field is observed for both positive and negative pulse polarities.

Analytical discrimination models of Raman spectra of prostate tissue were constructed by using the projections onto latent structures data analysis(PLS-DA) method for different wavelengths of exciting radiation-532 and 785 nm. These models allowed us to divide the Raman spectra of prostate cancer and the spectra of hyperplasia sites for validation datasets with the accuracy of 70-80%, depending on the specificity value.

Unlabelled: was to present a clinical and anatomical rationale for transplantation of skin-bone grafts with microvascular anastomoses for treating terminal and segmental defects of the hand and fingers.
Materials And Methods: Finger and metacarpal bones were reconstructed in 25 hands of 25 patients by transplanting skin-bone tubular fragments with microvascular anastomoses. Transplants from the second metatarsal bone (n=22) and fibula (n=3) were used.
The temporal evolution of a plasma channel at the trail of a self-guided femtosecond laser pulse was studied experimentally and theoretically in air, nitrogen (with an admixture of ∼3% O_{2}), and argon in a wide range of gas pressures (from 2 to 760 Torr). Measurements by means of transverse optical interferometry and pulsed terahertz scattering techniques showed that plasma density in air and nitrogen at atmospheric pressure reduces by an order of magnitude within 3-4 ns and that the decay rate decreases with decreasing pressure. The argon plasma did not decay within several nanoseconds for pressures of 50-760 Torr.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThermal imaging and laser Doppler flowmetry were applied to study the effects of infrared (IR) radiation mediated by vascular response in healthy volunteers during regular unilateral arteriovenous occlusion of one of the fingers (4 times a day for 7 months with a gradual increase in exposure from 10 to 30 min). After repeated unilateral exposure, we observed consistent changes in temperature conditions and modes of thermoregulation of corresponding skin areas of both hands. We discovered a high level of positive correlation between the dynamics of IR emission from the experimental and control skin areas in the recovery phase after clamping, which indicates that systemic vascular response is involved.

The fractional electron power quickly transferred to heat in non-equilibrium plasmas was studied experimentally and theoretically in N(2)/O(2) mixtures subjected to high electric fields. Measurements were performed in and after a nanosecond surface dielectric barrier discharge at various (300-750 Torr) gas pressures and (50-100%) N(2) percentages. Observations showed that the efficiency of fast gas heating is almost independent of pressure and becomes more profound when the fraction of O(2) in N(2)/O(2) mixtures increases.

Non-equilibrium plasma demonstrates great potential to control ultra-lean, ultra-fast, low-temperature flames and to become an extremely promising technology for a wide range of applications, including aviation gas turbine engines, piston engines, RAMjets, SCRAMjets and detonation initiation for pulsed detonation engines. The analysis of discharge processes shows that the discharge energy can be deposited into the desired internal degrees of freedom of molecules when varying the reduced electric field, E/n, at which the discharge is maintained. Objective: To review the etiology, diagnosis, and management of diabetes insipidus during pregnancy.
Data Sources: A search of the literature was performed in PubMed using key word searching and citation snowballing to identify articles published in English between January 1, 1980, and December 31, 2008, on the subject of diabetes insipidus during pregnancy. Once the articles were identified, a thorough review of all results was conducted.
The interactions between an oligomeric heat-shock protein, alpha-crystallin, and its individual subunits with unfolded proteins were monitored by surface plasmon resonance. Immobilization at the sensor chip allowed us for the first time to study isolated alpha-crystallin subunits under physiological conditions. We observe that these subunits, in contrast to alpha-crystallin oligomers, do not bind unfolded protein.

We have used an algorithm from the pattern recognition theory "generalized portrait" to find a distinguishing vector for Escherichia coli promoters. We have made an attempt to solve closely linked problems for choosing significant signs of that signal, multiple alignment and for calculation of the recognition vector (matrix). The promoters with known strength have been ranged with this vector.
