Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of using contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance cholangiography (MRC) with gadoxetic acid disodium (Gd-EOB-DTPA) for diagnosing active bile leaks at different time intervals post-injection.
  • A total of 34 patients suspected of having bile leaks were analyzed, with initial images taken 20-25 minutes after injection, and additional delayed images captured if needed at 60-90 minutes and 150-180 minutes.
  • The results showed high sensitivity (96.4%) and specificity (100%) for diagnosing bile leaks, indicating that delayed imaging significantly improves detection rates, especially in patients with complex biliary situations.
