A novel vanadium hydroxide-phosphate, NH VPO OH, was synthesized hydrothermally in V O -NH H PO -citric acid system at 230 °C. It was characterized by XRD, TG-DSC, SEM-EDX, FTIR and NMR spectroscopy. NH VPO OH is isostructural with NH GaPO OH and features edge-sharing chains of VO octahedra.

In this paper, we report on a novel α-VPO phosphate adopting the α-CrPO type structure as a promising anode material for rechargeable metal-ion batteries. Obtained by heat treatment of a structurally related hydrothermally prepared KTiOPO-type NHVOPO precursor under reducing conditions, the α-VPO material appears stable in a wide temperature range and possesses an interesting "sponged" needle-like particle morphology. The electrochemical performance of α-VPO as the anode material was examined in Li-, Na-, and K-based cells.

The current case report presents a rare complication of a significant pancreatic tail necrosis following proximal splenic artery embolization in a 32-year-old male patient involved in a motorcycle accident. Proximal angiographic embolization of the splenic injury after trauma is a widely accepted method with excellent success rate; however, possible complications may occur and has been described in the literature. Nevertheless, only a few case reports pertinent to clinically significant pancreatic tail necrosis after the SAE has been reported.
