Endocrine-resistant, hormone receptor-positive, and HER2-negative (HR+/HER2-) metastatic breast cancer (mBC) is largely governed by acquired mutations in the estrogen receptor, which promote ligand-independent activation, and by truncal alterations in the PI3K signaling pathway, with a broader range of gene alterations occurring with less prevalence. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)-based technologies are progressively permeating the clinical setting. However, their utility for serial monitoring has been hindered by their significant costs, inter-technique variability, and real-world patient heterogeneity.

COVID-19 most related glomerular disease to date seems to be collapsing glomerulopathy, mostly in young Afroamerican patients with APOL1 gene risk alleles. However, in our population, predominant in elderly Caucasian patients, most biopsied pathology since the beginning of the pandemic has been IgA nephritis or Schönlein-Henoch purpura. Since the description of the first case of this entity after SARS-CoV-2 infection by our research group, three more cases have arisen, which are described in the following article.

Background: Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour is an infrequent mesenchymal neoplasia of unknown aetiology and variable behaviour, ranging from rather benign lesions to locally aggressive and even metastatic disease. Its presence has been described in almost all organs; however, its location in the female genital tract has rarely been reported.

Uterine tumors resembling ovarian sex cord tumors are rare neoplasms of unknown etiology that are classified as distinct from endometrial stromal tumors on the basis of their morphologic, molecular, and behavioral characteristics. These neoplasms have a variable immunophenotype, sometimes coexpressing epithelial, myoid, and sex cord markers. To date, only 2 cases of uterine tumors resembling ovarian sex cord tumors associated with tamoxifen use have been reported.

Aims: Heat shock proteins (HSPs), known to inhibit apoptosis and promote cellular survival, are overexpressed in many tumours. We analysed the expression of relevant HSPs and heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) in classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) and their relationship with caspase signalling pathways and patient outcome.

Methods And Results: Using tissue microarrays (TMAs), most cases showed strong immunohistochemical expression of HSPs [10, 27, 40, 60, 70, 90, 110, HO1, cell division cycle 37 homolog (CDC37) and HSF1, which points to cHL as a potential candidate to stress-response inhibitors.

Sarcomatoid carcinomas are rare tumors predominantly composed of spindle cells. This report describes two cases of penile sarcomatoid carcinoma with similar clinicopathological findings. Distinctive features of these tumors were the focal immunostaining that showed the sarcoma-like cells with keratin, smooth muscle actin and p16, and the absence of immunostaining of these cells with p53, S100 protein and desmin.

We studied vascular function in quiescent aortas from senescence-accelerated resistant (SAM-R1) and prone (SAM-P8) mice. Myographical studies of thoracic aorta segments from 6-7 month-old mice showed that the contractility of SAM-P8 aortas was markedly higher than that of SAM-R1 after KCl depolarization or phenylephrine addition. Acetylcholine dose-response relaxation curves revealed that SAM-R1 vessels were slightly more sensitive than those of SAM-P8.
