Pyrolysis has become an interesting waste valorization method leading to an increasing number of research studies in this field in the last decade. The present study aims to provide a comprehensive knowledge map of scientific production in pyrolysis, discuss the current state of research, and identify the main research hotspots and trends in recent years. The systematic review, supported by analysis of countries and institutions, keyword co-occurrence analysis, analysis of keyword trends, journal analysis, and article impact, was carried out on 6234 journal articles from the Science Citation Index Expanded database of the Web of Science Core Collection.

The present study endeavors to establish a comprehensive kinetic analysis of Municipal Solid Waste residue pyrolysis. As the sample exhibits four distinct degradation stages, it has been carried out by adopting a multi-step process behavior. Different approaches have been compared, including five isoconversional methods (Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose, Ozawa-Flynn-Wall, Starink, Friedman and Advanced integral Vyazovkin), Mathematical Deconvolution Analysis, and Independent Parallel Reaction Model.

The Portuguese dogfish Centroscymnus coelolepis is a wide-ranging deep-water shark and a common by-catch component of the catches of several mid- to deep-water fisheries. In the present study, two new records from the south-western Atlantic Ocean are reported based on specimens caught by bottom-longline fishing vessels operating in the Argentinean-Uruguayan Common Fishing Zone. Species identification based on morphology and detailed morphometrics, as well as molecular data are presented for one of the specimens.

The aim of this study was to determine the effects of different exposure lenght to heat shock (HS) during in vitro maturation (IVM) on zona pellucida (ZP) ultrastructure and developmental competence of bovine oocytes. Cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) were matured in vitro (IVM) at 38.5 °C for 24 h (control group, CG), or incubated at 41 °C (HS) for 6 h (HS-6h), 12 h (HS-12h), 18 h (HS-18h), and 22h (HS-22h) followed by incubation at 38.

Environmental sustainability of South American rainfed agroecosystems is of current concern. In this work, we evaluate the occurrence of multiple pesticide residues in muscle tissue of wild fish species from two large rivers in South America (Uruguay and Negro Rivers). Two sampling campaigns (representing summer and winter crops) were performed during 2015 targeting a wide biodiversity of fish species used for human consumption (ranging from migratory to non-migratory and from detritivorous to top-predators).

Animal models are essential to cancer research, but current xenograft models are limited in their utility especially due to the lack of an immune system. Here we demonstrate that a xenograft tumor model can be developed in immunocompetent mice by tolerizing murine fetuses to human tumor cells. A375 human melanoma cells were injected into day E14 fetuses and after birth mice were challenged with A375 cells to determine their ability to develop tumors.

Purpose: We have demonstrated that administration of heparin-binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor (HB-EGF) protects the intestines from injury. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the effect of HB-EGF gene disruption on intestinal restitution, angiogenesis, and long-term survival after intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury.

Methods: HB-EGF (-/-) and wild-type HB-EGF (+/+) littermate mice were subjected to 45 minutes of superior mesenteric artery occlusion followed by reperfusion.
