Purpose: To validate a French version of the Visual Function and Corneal Health Status (V-FUCHS) instrument in Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) and to correlate questionnaire scores with objective measurements of best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and intraocular straylight.

Methods: The original V-FUCHS 15-item instrument was designed to assess VA and glare in patients with FECD. It was translated from English to French and back translated to English by independent translators.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of coffee consumption on salivary cortisol (sCort) and alpha amylase (sAA) in young adults.

Materials And Methods: Sixty healthy university students, habitual coffee consumers, participated in this descriptive observational study. Participants were divided into three groups: G1 low consumption (≤ 2 cups of coffee per day, n = 20), G2 moderate consumption (2-5 cups of coffee per day, n = 20), and G3 high consumption (>5 cups of coffee per day, n = 20).

To evaluate long-term functionality of corneas regenerated using a cell-free, liquid hydrogel filler (LiQD Cornea) after deep corneal trauma in the feline model. Two healthy cats underwent 4 mm diameter stepwise 250/450 µm deep surgical corneal ablation with and without needle perforation. The filler comprising 10% (w/w) collagen-like peptide conjugated to polyethylene glycol (CLP-PEG) and 1% fibrinogen and crosslinked with 2% (w/w) 4-(4,6-dimethoxy-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-4-methylmorpholinium chloride (DMTMM), was applied to the wound bed previously coated with thrombin (250 U/ml).

In this paper first principles total energy calculations to study the adsorption of amine group (NH2) on graphene (G) and boron nitride (hBN) nanosheets are developed; the density functional theory, within the local density approximation and Perdew-Wang functional was employed. The sheets were modeled with a sufficiently proved CnHm-like cluster with armchair edge. The optimized geometry was obtained following the minimum energy criterion, searching on four positions for each nanosheet: perpendicular to the carbon atom, on the hexagon, inside the hexagon and on the bridge C-C, for the G-amine interaction; and, perpendicular to the B, perpendicular to the N, on the hexagon, and inside the hexagon, for the hBN-amine interaction.
