Objectives: Describe the current legislation on electronic medical records (EMR) and telehealth in Latin American countries and analyze the treatment of confidentiality and professional secrecy.

Methods: Between March and September 2022, a survey of the regulations in force in 21 Latin American countries was conducted at two levels: the existence of legislation on EMR and telehealth, and the treatment of confidentiality and professional secrecy in EMR and telehealth. A data extraction form was prepared for each country.

Environmental and anthropogenic factors synergistically affect space use of jaguars.

Large terrestrial carnivores have undergone some of the largest population declines and range reductions of any species, which is of concern as they can have large effects on ecosystem dynamics and function. The jaguar (Panthera onca) is the apex predator throughout the majority of the Neotropics; however, its distribution has been reduced by >50% and it survives in increasingly isolated populations. Consequently, the range-wide management of the jaguar depends upon maintaining core populations connected through multi-national, transboundary cooperation, which requires understanding the movement ecology and space use of jaguars throughout their range.

Clinicopathologic, Immunohistochemical, and Molecular Features of Histiocytoid Sweet Syndrome.

Importance: Histiocytoid Sweet syndrome is a rare histopathologic variant of Sweet syndrome. The nature of the histiocytoid infiltrate has generated considerable controversy in the literature.

Objective: The main goal of this study was to conduct a comprehensive overview of the immunohistochemical phenotype of the infiltrate in histiocytoid Sweet syndrome.

Background: Skin problems are among the most frequent reasons for seeking medical attention in primary care. In recent years, as a result of the process of adapting medical curricula to the requirements of the European Higher Education Area, the amount of time students spend learning the concepts of dermatology has been reduced in many universities.

Material And Methods: In order to reach a consensus on core content for undergraduate education in dermatology, we sent a survey to the 57 members of the instructors' group of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (AEDV), asking their opinions on what objectives should be set for a dermatology course in Spain.

Notch1 Pathway Activation Results from the Epigenetic Abrogation of Notch-Related MicroRNAs in Mycosis Fungoides.

Notch is a family of transmembrane receptors that participate in the regulation of cell differentiation, proliferation, and stemness. Notch pathway activation has also been found associated with different human cancers including primary cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL). The elucidation of the mechanisms driving Notch activation in these particular diseases has remained elusive.

Primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphomas with 6p25.3 rearrangement exhibit particular histological features.

Aims: CD30-positive primary cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorders include several entities with differing clinical presentation but overlapping histological features, including lymphomatoid papulosis and primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (C-ALCL). DUSP22-IRF4 locus translocation is present in 20-57% of C-ALCLs, and has also been described in a series of 11 lymphomatoid papulosis patients, where it was associated with a particular biphasic histological pattern, including pagetoid reticulosis-type epidermal infiltration. We aimed to study whether the presence of this translocation may define distinctive histological features in C-ALCL.

Adverse reaction to silicone simulating orofacial granulomatosis.

Background: Granulomatous reactions to silicone facial fillers are well described in the literature. Clinically, these reactions present as nodules or pseudotumors that are frequently described as silicone granulomas or siliconomas.

Objective: We want to report a peculiar form of granulomatous reaction to injected silicone characterized by recurrent episodes of facial edema.

Dermatofibroma of the face: a clinicopathologic study of 20 cases.

Introduction: Dermatofibroma is one of the most common benign skin tumors. It typically develops on the lower limbs between the third and fifth decade of life and is more common in women. Clinical diagnosis is often straightforward.

Risk factors for the development of locoregional cutaneous metastases as the sole form of recurrence in patients with melanoma.

Background: While locoregional cutaneous metastases (in transit and satellite) in melanoma have received little attention from researchers to date, they have pathogenic and prognostic features that distinguish them from other forms of locoregional recurrence. Identifying predictors of these metastases would be of great value for their prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment. The aim of this study was to identify the risk factors associated with locoregional cutaneous metastases as the first form of recurrence in the metastatic progression of melanoma.

Syphilitic alopecia: a report of 5 cases and a review of the literature.

Syphilitic alopecia occurs in only 4% of patients with syphilis. We present 5 cases of this uncommon manifestation and review the corresponding literature. All of the patients in our series were men aged between 31 and 46 years.

Mitotic rate and subcutaneous involvement are prognostic factors for survival after recurrence in patients with only locoregional skin metastasis as the first site of recurrence from cutaneous melanoma.

Background: Few reports on literature give detailed figures on prognostic factors of locoregional skin recurrence in cutaneous melanoma.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate clinical and histological prognostic factors following development of locoregional cutaneous metastasis as the only progression site from melanoma.

Methods: Data from 1327 stage I and II melanoma patients who visited Instituto Valenciano de Oncología and Consorcio Hospital General Universitario de Valencia from 2000 to 2010 were documented in a prospective manner.

[Protein contact dermatitis: review of 27 cases].

Background: Protein contact dermatitis (PCD) is a rare and underdiagnosed condition that many dermatologists fail to recognize. Nevertheless, increasing awareness of the condition and the substances responsible has led to a rise in the number of published cases in recent years.

Objective: To determine the clinical characteristics and allergens implicated in PCD in our setting.

[Inflammatory myxohyaline tumor of the distal extremities].

Inflammatory myxohyaline tumor of the distal extremities is an extremely rare low-grade sarcoma with a tendency to produce local recurrence after surgical excision, but with a low metastatic potential. We present the case of a 49-year-old woman with a slow-growing asymptomatic tumor on the right pretibial region that was initially considered to be a lipoma. Histopathology revealed the presence of a polymorphic inflammatory infiltrate within a myxoid and hyaline matrix.
