In recent years, with the increased interest in smart home technology and the increased need to remotely monitor patients due to the pandemic, demand for contactless systems for vital sign measurements has also been on the rise. One of these kinds of systems are Doppler radar systems. Their design is composed of several choices that could possibly have a significant impact on their overall performance, more specifically those focused on the measurement of cardiac activity.

An exacerbated immune response may be the main mechanism of myocardial injury and late cardiac sequelae in this population. We investigated the immune profile in hypertensive and non-hypertensive patients with COVID-19 who developed late cardiac fibrosis and edema, as detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Invasive cervical resorption (ICR) is an aggressive pathological condition that can affect any permanent tooth. This process is characterized by replacement of the tooth structure with granulomatous fibrovascular or fibro-osseous tissue. Despite its asymptomatic nature, ICR can lead to tooth loss.

The protocol was adapted from the Joanna Briggs Institute Reviewer's Manual (2017) and reported according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines for Scoping Reviews. A total of 239 articles were considered potentially eligible, and their full texts read by two reviewers.

This paper analyzes broadband antennas, with a special focus on Vivaldi antennas, for their suitability for through-wall radar applications. It assesses various antenna designs, emphasizing high gain, wide impedance bandwidth, and effective wall penetration capabilities. Vivaldi antennas are superior due to their broad bandwidth, high gain, and directional radiation patterns.

Objectives: To better understand potential disparities in AF prevalence and treatment strategies in the Brazilian population through data from a large multicentric prospective registry.
Background: To outline the current evidence on root morphological changes after enlarging the apical foramen with NiTi instruments.
Material And Methods: A search was performed in the Virtual Health Library, PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct and SciELO databases, in addition to a manual search in Google Scholar, between January 2017 and October 2023. Articles published in English that describe studies investigating root morphological changes after instrumentation 1 mm beyond the major apical foramen were included.
Background: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has established itself as the preferential strategy to approach severe aortic stenosis. Information on procedural improvements and nationwide results obtained with the technique throughout the past decade are unknown.
Objectives: To assess the temporal variation of the demographic profile, procedural characteristics, and in-hospital outcomes of patients undergoing TAVI procedures at the Rede D'Or São Luiz.
Objective: To provide insights into the potential benefits of goal-directed therapy guided by FloTrac in reducing postoperative complications and improving outcomes.
Methods: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials to evaluate goal-directed therapy guided by FloTrac in major surgery, comparing goal-directed therapy with usual care or invasive monitoring in cardiac and noncardiac surgery subgroups. The quality of the articles and evidence were evaluated with a risk of bias tool and GRADE.

Endodontic management of teeth afflicted with pulp canal obliteration faces a challenge due to the heightened risk of complications including excessive wear, perforation, and suboptimal chemomechanical preparation. This report aims to elucidate the clinical endodontic strategy employed in addressing pulp canal obliteration after a history of dental trauma and an associated periradicular lesion in an upper lateral incisor. A patient visited the dental emergency department with symptoms of apical swelling, acute persistent pain, and discoloration of tooth 22.

In this work, the ability to use the proposed system for emotion recognition is verified by comparing its performance on identifying fear, happiness and a neutral condition, with certified measuring equipment. For this purpose, machine learning algorithms were applied to the respiratory and cardiac signals captured simultaneously by the radar and the referenced contact-based system.

It provides crucial information for developing rehabilitation programs to improve balance and reduce fall risk. This paper aims to describe a new tool to gather and analyze the data from inertial sensors to allow automation and increased reliability in the future by removing practitioner bias and facilitating the FRT procedure.

Introduction: The Hb Deer Lodge (β2 His>Arg; HBB:c.8A>G) is a structural hemoglobin variant described in some populations around the world, characterized by increased oxygen affinity, but does not confer clinical symptoms to its carriers. The coinheritance of the Hb Deer Lodge with the most common hemoglobin variant, Hb S, has been reported only once; however, functional data were not described.

FTA-cards were used for DNA extraction, LAMP was the method developed for DNA amplification and a nanoparticle functionalized magnetic-biosensor was used for the detection. The combinatorial effect of these three emerging technologies has the capacity to detect with a detection limit of one juvenile, even when mixed with other related species.
