This study was done to evaluate if the accuracy of FDG-PET concerning the differentiation of benign and malignant pancreatic masses differs for patients with and without elevated C-Reactive Protein (CRP). Three hundred-four patients (165 neoplasms, 98 chronic pancreatitis, and 41 benign lesions) received FDG-PET of the abdomen prior to planned resective surgery. CRP was unknown, normal, and elevated with 211, 71, and 22 patients, respectively.

The syndrome of spontaneous intracranial hypotension is characterized by orthostatic headaches in conjunction with reduced cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure or CSF volume, and characteristic magnetic resonance (MR) imaging findings. A 50-year-old man presented with a 1-year history of paroxysmal ataxia of gait and short attacks of blurred vision when he stood up from a recumbent position and began to walk. Orthostatic headache was not a feature of his clinical presentation.

Aim: The aim of this study was to enhance the delivery and thus anti-tumoral efficiency of antisense bcl-2 oligonucleotides (ODN's).

Methods: Bcl-2 overexpressing DoHH2 lymphoma and HeLa-cells were transfected with ODN's using a polycationic liposome preparation. Specific hybridization of antisense ODN's was demonstrated by gel-shift assays and in vitro transcription/translation studies.
