Nested Polymerase Chain Reaction and Cutaneous Tuberculosis.

The role of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the etiology and pathogenesis of cutaneous tuberculosis is controversial because of the difficulties associated with demonstrating the presence of these mycobacteria in tuberculid cutaneous lesions by routinely available microbiological and histological techniques. In this study, we aimed to demonstrate the presence of M. tuberculosis in cutaneous tuberculosis.

Circumscribed Hypokeratosis: Report on a Series of 7 Mexican Cases and Review of the Literature.

Circumscribed palmoplantar hypokeratosis is a recently described condition with well-defined clinical and histopathologic features. Eight additional cases from Mexican patients-six cases have been published in the literature, we report 7. In 6 cases, a hyperkeratotic edge was demonstrated histologically.
