Paraneoplastic jaundice and prostate cancer.

Cholestasis has numerous causes. We present the case of a 78-year-old man with a common diagnosis in this age group and gender but with an unusual presentation. There are only 11 articles published of patients with jaundice due to a paraneoplastic syndrome associated with prostate cancer.

Tuberculous lymphadenitis and syndrome of inappropriate antidiuresis, improbable partners.

A patient with acute respiratory infection and severe hyponatraemia was admitted to our department. The hyponatraemia study was compatible with syndrome of inappropriate antidiuresis (SIAD) and an association with the respiratory problem was initially assumed. The recurrence of hyponatraemia after resolution of the pulmonary infection led to further investigation and to the diagnosis of tuberculous lymphadenitis.

Sternoclavicular septic arthritis due to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in a patient with a suprapubic catheter.

We report a case of a 74-year-old man who presented to the emergency department with a 1-week history of fever. He had a meatal stenosis and had a suprapubic catheter for 10 months, and had a recent hospitalisation for urosepsis with bacteraemia due to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus after manipulation of the catheter. Clinical examinations were performed in the emergency department and the patient was hospitalised with the diagnosis of recurrent urinary tract infection.
