Triphenylphosphine substitution reactions of [RuCl(PPh)(tpm)]Cl, 1, featuring tris(pyrazolyl)methane (tpm) as ligand, with the chlorambucil-decorated pyridine ligand Py, 3-aminopyridine (Py) and 4-pyridinemethanol (Py) afforded the corresponding pyridine complexes 2-4 in high yields. Py was preliminarily obtained via esterification of 4-pyridinemethanol with chlorambucil. The new compounds Py and 2-3 were characterized by IR and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy.

The tpmIBU and tpmFLU ligands and corresponding complexes 3 and 4 were characterized by IR and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, and the structure of tpmIBU was elucidated by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes 1-4 were also assessed for their behaviour in aqueous media (solubility in DO, octanol/water partition coefficient, stability in physiological-like conditions).

Pyridine, 4-pyridinemethanol and four functionalized pyridines, synthesized from the esterification of 4-pyridinemethanol with bioactive carboxylic acids (, ethacrynic acid, ibuprofen, flurbiprofen and naproxen), react with the precursor [RuCl(κ-tpm)(PPh)]Cl (1) to afford [RuCl(κ-tpm)(PPh)(L)]Cl (2-7, L = pyridine ligand), in 78-91% yields. All products were fully characterized by HR-ESI mass spectrometry, IR and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and the solid-state structures of two of the complexes, where L = pyridine and 4-pyridinemethanol, were ascertained by single crystal X-ray diffraction.

Ruthenium(II) complex was obtained by a modified reported procedure; then, the reactions with a series of organic molecules (L) in boiling alcohol afforded novel complexes - in 77-99% yields. Products were fully structurally characterized.

Herein, the H-bonding donor properties of hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) are utilized for Au-Cl bond activation and the ancillary ligand and counteranion effects on cycloisomerization reactions are showcased in HFIP as solvent.

We aim to evaluate the association between GMDs and TNs according to sex and the sex differences in glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity (IS). (2) Methods: We evaluated 342 patients (268 females and 74 males) at high GMD risk undergoing an oral glucose tolerance test and a thyroid ultrasound.

Herein, we further improve the synthesis of such compounds by circumventing the use of toxic organic solvents which were previously required for their purification, and we expand their scope to include complexes incorporating carbolines as the amido fragments. The novel complexes are screened both in vitro and ex vivo, against several cancer cell lines and high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) tumoroids, respectively.

Purpose: To evaluate the effects of 24 weeks of Mat Pilates in breast cancer survivors (BCS) undergoing hormone therapy on lower and upper body muscle strength parameters and flexibility.
Materials And Methods: Forty-three BCS (≥40 years) with confirmed breast cancer stage 0-III undergoing hormone therapy were included. Participants were randomized into Mat Pilates (three times/week, 60 min session) or control group (relaxation activities every two weeks).
Aging decreases physical function which can increase dependence in activities of daily living (ADL) and disability. However, physical activity (PA) may improve physical function and prevent disability in older adults. In addition, it is important to emphasize that research concerning the domains in which PA is practiced and the benefits for physical function of older adults is also important for the elaboration of preventative health measures for this population.

The structures of the new coordination compounds were ascertained by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The three species exhibited noticeable luminescence in the green region upon excitation with UV light, with emissions related to the Mn(ii) 4T1(4G) → 6A1(6S) transition, without appreciable luminescence from the coordinated ligands.

: To compare the effects of three modalities of resistance training, two using elastic components and one using conventional weight machine on peripheral muscle strength in Individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Effects on exercise capacity, impact of disease on health status, body composition and daily level of physical activity were investigated as secondary endpoints.: Forty-eight participants were randomly allocated (Trials Registry #RBR-6V9SJJ) into Elastic band group (Theraband®) (EBG), Elastic tubes training using Lemgruber® (ETG), and Conventional training with weight machine equipment (CG).

Thus, the aim of this study was to analyze the association of total physical activity (PA) and its different domains, as well as sedentary behavior with sarcopenia and SO in older adults with the incidence of clinical factors.: Body composition was measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), handgrip strength by dynamometer, physical function by physical tests, and PA and sedentary behavior were self-reported.
