Purpose: The airway complex is modified by palatine expansion. Computer tomography has been used in the past to determine the change in volume, but there was a lack of a specific, reproducible method for this purpose. The present study sought to determine the accuracy, reproducibility, and repeatability of an innovative digital measurement technique for analyzing the volume of maxillary and nasal sinus airways following suture palatine expansion performed with the Hyrax disyuntor appliance.

Analyzing pooled data from multiple years carries the risk of introducing aggregation bias in the analysis. Those aggregated models might be structurally unstable, and the significance of the risk factors identified using those aggregated models might change over time due to the ongoing changes in vehicle technologies, law-enforcement technologies, and drivers' attitudes.

I show that Inchofer's arguments applied far more to the beliefs of Giordano Bruno than to those of Galileo. Since antiquity, various Christian authorities had repudiated several beliefs about the as 'heretical', hence I review their critiques against Pythagoras, Origen, and Peter Abelard, for allegedly asserting animistic beliefs about the Earth, or a universal spirit, or that souls move the heavenly bodies.

Several studies have conducted axial impact tests to determine the injury limits of the lower leg, mostly focused on automotive intrusions, resulting in an established force criterion for injury assessments. Due to the viscoelastic properties of bone, it remains unclear whether results from automotive experiments can be applied to higher-rate military blasts.

While most experimental studies on the tibia's injury tolerance assume that load is directed along the leg's long axis, the effects of off-axis loading due to non-standard postures have not been well quantified, and commonly-cited injury criteria such as the Tibia Index do not directly account for posture. Therefore, twelve cadaveric tibias (paired from six donors) were subjected to off-axis impact loading in a custom-built test apparatus.

Historians have claimed that this belief was not heretical and therefore was not a major factor in Bruno's trial or execution. On the contrary, by examining neglected treatises on theology, heresies and Catholic canon law, I show that the belief in many worlds was formally heretical.
