Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on the training of anesthesiologists in Hong Kong.

Introduction: COVID-19 has caused a substantial impact on anesthesiology training in multiple domains. The challenges faced by both trainees and educators remain a significant concern and adaptations in clinical teaching are warranted.

Brief mindful coloring for stress reduction in nurses working in a Hong Kong hospital during COVID-19 pandemic: A randomized controlled trial.

Background: Effective interventions to promote well-being at work are required to reduce the prevalence and consequences of stress and burnout especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study determined the effects of mindful coloring on perceived stress levels, mental well-being, burnout, and state and trait mindfulness levels for nurses during COVID-19.

Methods: This was a single-center, two-armed, parallel, superiority, blinded randomized controlled trial.

Cultural considerations in debriefing: a systematic review of the literature.

Background: Conversations are influenced by cultural perceptions, beliefs and values. Debriefing is a learning conversation. Without cross-cultural engagement or culturally relevant teaching, learning may be compromised and may result in an outcome opposite of that intended.

A microanalysis of expert-student dialogue videos: Supporting preparation and learning for clinical competence assessment.

Introduction: The aim of this qualitative study was to analyse students' perceptions and impact of using a novel video genre designed to support their learning and preparation for a clinical competence assessment. The videos demonstrate expert-student dialogue (ESD) of authentic, one-on-one discourse between the teacher and student, relating to the case presentation and self-evaluation of the assessment.

Methods: Students who were about to perform a competence assessment were invited to participate in the study.

Introduction: This study examined student access to online resources of a faculty's learning management system (LMS). Issues relating to current e-learning resources usage were identified and formed the basis for recommendations to help assist stakeholders in teaching, learning and research.

Introduction: This study examined relationships of students' access of e-learning (learning analytics) for a healthcare psychomotor skills course, approaches to learning (R-SPQ-2F psychometric) and academic achievement (summative examination results). An understanding of the relationships may help in supporting students learning.

Methods: Two consecutive cohorts of 5th year dental students were asked to complete the R-SPQ-2F questionnaire and permission to access data of online videos and associated quizzes and two summative written examination results were examined.

Introduction: In the face of a rapidly advancing pandemic with uncertain pathophysiology, pop-up healthcare units, ad hoc teams and unpredictable personal protective equipment supply, it is difficult for healthcare institutions and front-line teams to invent and test robust and safe clinical care pathways for patients and clinicians. Conventional simulation-based education was not designed for the time-pressured and emergent needs of readiness in a pandemic. We used 'rapid cycle system improvement' to create a psychologically safe learning oasis in the midst of a pandemic.
