Objective: are clinically relevant for severity prediction and treatment of COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2. We aimed to demonstrate the potential cytokines for severity prediction in the five days after symptom onset and describe the importance of serum cytokine levels for patients with different disease severity.
Materials And Methods: Hospitalized COVID-19 patients and healthy control participants were recruited, and serial sera were collected from COVID-19 patients.
Objective: In our study, the protective effect of dodder plant extract against encephalopathy induced by cholestatic liver disease model was investigated.
Methods: Spraque Dawley rats were used in the study. For the cholestatic liver disease model, the bile duct ligation (BDL) was applied.
Electron beam lithography (EBL) stands out as a powerful direct-write tool offering nanometer-scale patterning capability and is especially useful in low-volume R&D prototyping when coupled with pattern transfer approaches like etching or lift-off. Among pattern transfer approaches, lift-off is preferred particularly in research settings, as it is cost-effective and safe and does not require tailored wet/dry etch chemistries, fume hoods, and/or complex dry etch tools; all-in-all offering convenient, 'undercut-free' pattern transfer rendering it useful, especially for metallic layers and unique alloys with unknown etchant compatibility or low etch selectivity. Despite the widespread use of the lift-off technique and optical/EBL for micron to even sub-micron scales, existing reports in the literature on nanofabrication of metallic structures with critical dimension in the 10-20 nm regime with lift-off-based EBL patterning are either scattered, incomplete, or vary significantly in terms of experimental conditions, which calls for systematic process optimization.

Progesterone is used to prevent labor in pregnant women at risk of preterm birth. However, the mechanism of action of progesterone still needs to be clarified.

Endothelial cells (ECs) and hematopoietic stem cells develop from common stem cells called hemangioblasts in the early embryonic period. However, the presence of hemangioblasts in the postnatal period is controversial.

Blood samples were collected after baseline (3-5 months after two doses of CoronaVac), 1 and 3 months after BNT162b2 (n=28 and n=6), and CoronaVac (n=7 and n=4) boosters. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated and stained with B cell markers, the ratios of naïve (CD19+CD20+CD27-), memory (CD19+CD20+CD27+), memory B cells expressing IgG (CD19+CD20+CD27+IgG+), and effector memory B cells (CD19+CD20+CD27+CD38+) were identified with flow cytometry.

Yet, it is more aggressive and produces a worse prognosis than other breast cancers. Ultimately, the present study compares the clinicopathological features of pleomorphic and invasive lobular breast carcinomas.

Background: The Live Donor Assessment Tool (LDAT) is a semi-structured psychosocial assessment tool for evaluating potential organ donors. It enables standardization of the psychosocial evaluation across institutions and allows the quantification of the evaluation result.
Objective: To evaluate the validity and reliability of the German version of the LDAT in living kidney donors.
Background: We aimed to investigate the effect of bone morphology on fracture type and treatment result in patient with inter-trochanteric fracture (IFF) treated with intramedullary nailing (IMN) aged over 65 years. Primary outcome of study was to investigate the relationship between fracture type (stable or unstable) and bone density.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study conducted at single trauma center which included patients aged >65 years, minimum 3 months' control postoperatively, patients with simple fall by evaluating the patient data from 2010 to 2021.

Background: Gallbladder diseases are an important health concern affecting approximately 20% of the population in developed countries. Acute cholecystitis is the most common complication of gallstones. The aim of our study is to determine the use of Nesfatin-1, which is an easily applicable and fast resulting and is thought to have an association with inflammatory events, in the diagnosis and grading of acute cholecystitis.

Pharmacists can contribute to the prevention and management of these diseases through the provision of pharmaceutical care services.
Aim: The aim of this study was to implement a nationwide practice developed by the Turkish Pharmacists' Association aiming to realize pharmaceutical care provision of standard quality to patients with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes and hypertension at community pharmacies through a continuing professional development approach.

Purpose: This study evaluated the efficacy of treating periodontitis using subgingival nano-hydroxyapatite powder with an air abrasion device (NHAPA) combined with scaling and root planing (SRP).
Methods: A total of 28 patients with stage III periodontitis (grade B) were included in this study, although 1 was lost during follow-up and 3 used antibiotics. The patients were divided into a test group and a control group.
Background: It is essential to know about immune response levels after booster doses of the two different types of vaccines, mRNA, and the inactivated, currently used against COVID-19. For this purpose, we aimed to determine the effects of BNT162b2 (BNT) and CoronaVac (CV) boosters on the humoral and cellular immunity of individuals who had two doses of CV vaccination.
Methods: The study was conducted in three centers (Koc University Hospital, Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Hospital, and Istanbul University, Istanbul Medical School Hospital) in Istanbul, Turkey.

Objective: To investigate whether the frequency of uterine cavity abnormalities in PCOS patients higher than the normo-ovulatory patients.
Study Design: This retrospective cohort study was conducted at the ART center of a tertiary university hospital. A total of 103 patients; 51 PCOS, and 52 male factor infertility were enrolled in the study between the years 2011-2019.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive deterioration of cognitive functions (dementia) and represents a growing public health concern since the population in the age groups at risk is increasing. The latter raises an urgent need to translate research findings in the basic brain and behavioral sciences into anti-AD drugs and disease-modifying therapies. Origanum onites (L.

Case Presentation: A 42-year-old male patient was followed up due to spinal cord injury that developed secondary to burst fracture in the 6th thoracic vertebra as a result of falling off the train in 1996, was classified as International Standards for Neurological Classification of SCI (ISNCSCI) T8 American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale (AIS) grade-B.
Background: Transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TFESI) is an interventional technique used to relieve disc herniation related back and radicular pain. Although few studies have investigated the factors predicting positive outcomes after TFESI, there is no data concerning the possible relationship between pre-procedure serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) levels and the response to TFESI.
Objectives: To investigate the effect of vitamin D deficiency to treatment success of fluoroscopy-guided transforaminal epidural steroid injection.
We proposed the hypothesis that high-risk clones of colistin-resistant (ColR-Kp) possesses a high number of virulence factors and has enhanced survival capacity against the neutrophil activity. We studied virulence genes of ColR-Kp isolates and neutrophil response in 142 patients with invasive ColR-Kp infections. The ST101 and ST395 ColR-Kp infections had higher 30-day mortality (58%, = 0.

We performed a pilot study to evaluate the immune profile of patients who underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery or robot-assisted thoracic surgery lobectomies for the treatment of suspicious or known stage I non-small-cell lung cancer.
Methods: Blood samples were taken preoperatively and 3 and 24 h postoperatively were analysed for C-reactive protein, glucose, cortisol, tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interleukin 8 (IL-8) and interleukin 10 (IL-10) levels.
