Progesterone is a steroid hormone primarily associated with pregnancy. A simple, rapid, and reliable high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method has been developed and validated for the quantification of progesterone in human plasma. The method consists of a simple liquid-liquid extraction of progesterone and internal standard (estriol) from human plasma using a mixture of hexane and diethyl ether.

Background: Hallux valgus is a deformity characterized by lateral deviation of the big toe and medial deviation of the first metatarsal, causing difficulty in walking and requiring various treatments. Despite its multifactorial etiology, the role of the tibialis anterior tendon in hallux valgus and its variations in the morphology of tibialis anterior tendon distal insertion sites have not been fully explored. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of such variations on hallux valgus using magnetic resonance imaging.

Materials And Methods: Data from 53 patients who were diagnosed with pPCL between 2011 and 2020 and who used at least one proteasome inhibitor (PI) and/or immunomodulatory (IMID) agent were analyzed retrospectively. Depending on the year of the pPCL diagnosis, 20% leukocytes or ≥2x10/L plasma cells in the peripheral blood was used as a diagnostic criterion.

Introduction: Patients with leukaemia are exposed to infections as long as they are neutropenic. During this period, anorectal pathologies are among the common foci of infection with high mortality. In this study, we aim to investigate the factors that may have a predictive effect on early diagnosis and rapid intervention in perianal complications occurring in neutropenic patients diagnosed with leukaemia.

This study investigates the feasibility of coating Ni-Ti alloy with sea buckthorn extract via a hydrothermal method for targeted delivery of beneficial phenolic compounds to bone tissue. The qualitative analysis confirmed the presence of flavonoids and tannins in sea buckthorn extract, supporting its osteogenic potential. The microhardness of the NiTi alloy substrate was suitable for biomedical applications, and successful coating was achieved without compromising its properties.
