The aim of this study was to examine the role of forehead flaps in the reconstruction of orbital defects after exenteration. Patients undergoing orbital exenteration and reconstruction using median forehead flaps from January 2002 to August 2019 were enrolled in this retrospective study. All the patients were evaluated for wound complications, functional results, and tumor relapse.

In the present study, the plasticizer effect (glycerol) was studied on bioadhesive films based on sodium alginate (SA), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and gelatin (GE) polymers loaded with amphotericin B (AmB). The main objective of the current study was to assess the morphological, mechanical, thermal, optical, and barrier properties of the films as a function of glycerol (Gly) concentration (0.

Fractional flow reserve (FFR), a pressure based index, functionally assesses the ischaemic potential of coronary stenoses, but its utility in PAS is unknown. FFR in the peripheral vasculature in patients with limb ischaemia was investigated.

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between ADHD/related symptoms and processed meat products and snack consumption.
Methods: This study was conducted on 390 children aged between 6 and 17 with 169 ADHD (38 Girls, 131 Boys) and 221 healthy controls (93 Girls, 128 Boys).
The title mol-ecule, CHNO, adopts a V-shaped conformation and is chiral at the C atom with methyl group attached at the common cut of the edges of the V-conformation and crystallizes as a racemate. It also contains an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form chains of mol-ecules extending along the -axis direction, together with normal van der Waals contacts.

Interstitial lung disease is one of the many extra-articular manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis. We discuss a case of rheumatoid arthritis that presented with interstitial lung disease prior to the development of arthritis along with the discussion of novel anti-carbamylated protein antibody as a serological marker for the diagnosis of seronegative rheumatoid arthritis.

Most of their side effects are in the digestive system due to the carboxylic group. As naproxen is one of the NSAIDs, in this work, we try to mask the carboxylic group in naproxen with a relatively safe functional group.

In our effort we have synthesized a new hydrazide derivative, ()--(1-(4-bromophenyl)ethylidene)-2-(6-methoxynaphthalen-2-yl)propanehydrazide for this purpose because of its potential inhibitory proprieties. The asymmetric unit of the title molecule consists of two independent molecules differing noticeably in conformation.

This study investigates the biofilm formation and biofilm-related gene expression of two enteric Enterobacterales with major CR determinants IMP and NDM-1, which were seen in high prevalence in most common bacterial infections over the past few years. To our knowledge, this is the first study that demonstrated the relationship between biofilm formation and the related gene expression, to understand the potential molecular mechanisms during the biofilm formation in CRE.

The compounds were synthesized by the reaction of benzaldehyde with Ibuprofen acid hydrazide. Their structures were confirmed by X-ray crystallography.

Objective: Management of tibial fractures has been updating to achieve the best outcomes and avoid complications especially when talking about most common long bone fractures. Less invasive fixation techniques are the preferred ones to reduce surrounding soft tissue injury, improve healing process and decrease complications.
Background: Social isolation has been recommended for reducing older adults' mortality and severe cases of COVID illness. That has resulted in unavoidable consequences of mental ill-health. This study aimed to examine the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown on the development of loneliness and depression and to analyse the factors associated with these conditions among community-dwelling older adults in Jordan.

The rapid emergence of antimicrobial multidrug-resistant bacteria occurring worldwide has been attributed to the overuse of antibiotics. Alternative strategies must be developed to overcome antibiotic resistance.

Background: Several patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) are available for assessing the outcomes following ankle fractures. This study aimed to evaluate validity, reliability, and responsiveness and detect the minimal clinically important difference of the Foot and Ankle Outcome Score (FAOS) in patients with ankle fractures.
Methods: The study design is a prospective cohort study, including all patients treated both conservatively and surgically following an ankle fracture (AO-43A/B/C).
The conformation about the central benzene ring in the mol-ecule of (I), CHNO, is partially determined by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, chains parallel to the axis are generated by inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the chains assembled into a three-dimensional network structure by inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π(ring) inter-actions. The mol-ecule of (II), CHNO, differs from (I) only in the substituent at the hydrazide N atom where a phenyl-methyl-ene moiety for (II) is present instead of a furan-methyl-ene moiety for (I).

Genetic factors are likely to modulate the impact of city living on stress processing. Growing evidence suggests a key role of , a co-chaperone regulating the glucocorticoid receptor sensitivity, in the etiology of stress-related disorders.

Background: Pre-eclampsia is a major contributor to pregnancy-associated morbidity and mortality and the management of this complex syndrome needs to be improved. Recently serum collectrin has emerged as a new member of the renin-angiotensin system that regulates the blood pressure through nitric oxide -endothelial nitric oxide synthase pathway.
Objective: To evaluate the correlation of serum collectrin level and preeclampsia onset.
Background: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are one of the most common infections found in humans, with uropathogenic (UPEC) being the most common cause. Prevention of UTI is a major global concern due to its recurrent nature, medical cost, and most importantly, the increased antimicrobial resistance among UPEC. The resistance in UPEC is mainly due to the Extended-Spectrum β-lactamases (ESBL), particularly the CTXM-15 type which is known for its rapid dissemination worldwide.
