The purpose of the current study was to analyze the risk of slippage and to present the evolving technique by adding gastro-gastric plication of the gastric wall covering the BariClip at those areas where the gastric wall "slips" between the limbs of the clip.
Methods: All patients undergoing LBCG with the evolving technique of gastric plication around the device associated with antral gastroplasty from January 2021 to May 2022 were included in the study group (group A).

Setting: The detection of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) using rapid drug susceptibility testing (DST) has increased steadily in recent years in Peru, from 9216 tests in 2010 to 27 021 tests in 2015. Research examining the impact of rapid DST on treatment outcomes is required.
Objective: To evaluate the association between rapid DST use (nitrate reductase assay, microscopic observation drug susceptibility assay [MODS] and GenoType MTBDR) and treatment outcomes and mortality in MDR-TB patients in Peru.

Objective: To characterise childhood tuberculosis (TB) treated with second-line drugs (SLDs) in Lima, Peru.
Design: Results for the age groups <5 and 5-14 years were compared and treatment outcomes were assessed in cases reported between 2011 and 2015 from six districts of Lima.
Results: Of 96 reported cases, 82 were evaluated.
Background: In Peru, a treatment approach for extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) incorporating World Health Organization Group 5 drugs and patient-centred care has achieved 65% success. To extend this approach to pre-XDR-TB patients, we evaluated this population separately.
Objective: To assess programmatic management of pre-XDR-TB.
In placental mammalian development, the first cell differentiation produces two distinct lineages that emerge according to their position within the embryo: the trophectoderm (TE, placenta precursor) differentiates in the surface, while the inner cell mass (ICM, fetal body precursor) forms inside. Here, we discuss how such position-dependent lineage specifications are regulated by the RHOA subfamily of small GTPases and RHO-associated coiled-coil kinases (ROCK). Recent studies in mouse show that activities of RHO/ROCK are required to promote TE differentiation and to concomitantly suppress ICM formation.

Tuberculosis (TB) is the first cause of death by an infectious agent in the world, the incidence in the population is declining very slowly and drug resistance is currently considered an international crisis. In Peru, the recent TB Prevention and Control Act in Peru (Law 30287) declares the fight against TB of national interest. Through consuming, manipulating, and relocating wildlife feces, over 7,000 species of coprophagous dung beetles interact with a staggering diversity of wildlife parasites with fecal-oral transmission in ways that both increase and decrease transmission. Here, we review the mechanisms by which dung beetles influence micro- and macroparasite transmission and outline a future research framework that integrates theory and empirical insights to advance our understanding of how these relationships may interact with ongoing environmental change drivers to further influence wildlife populations and community structure.
