Persistence of Zika Virus in Breast Milk after Infection in Late Stage of Pregnancy.

We detected Zika virus in breast milk of a woman in Brazil infected with the virus during the 36th week of pregnancy. Virus was detected 33 days after onset of signs and symptoms and 9 days after delivery. No abnormalities were found during fetal assessment or after birth of the infant.

Isolated primary amyloidosis of the inferior rectus muscle mimicking Graves' orbitopathy.

The diagnosis of Graves' orbitopathy is usually straightforward. However, orbital diseases that mimick some clinical signs of Graves' orbitopathy may cause diagnostic confusion, particularly when associated to some form of thyroid dysfunction. This report describes the rare occurrence of localized inferior rectus muscle amyloidosis in a patient with autoimmune hypothyroidism, who was misdiagnosed as Graves' orbitopathy.

Correlation between flow cytometry and histologic findings: ten year experience in the investigation of lymphoproliferative diseases.

Objective: To demonstrate the advantages of correlating flow cytometry immunophenotyping with the pathology/ immunohistochemistry of lymph nodes or nodules in the diagnosis of lymphoproliferative diseases.

Methods: A retrospective study was carried out of 157 biopsy or fine-needle aspiration lymph nodes/ nodule specimens taken from 142 patients, from 1999 and 2009. The specimens were simultaneously studied with fow cytometry and pathology at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein.

Malignant Struma Ovarii: an autopsy report of a clinically unsuspected tumor.

Background: Struma Ovarii represents less than 3% of ovarian teratomas. The malignant counterpart is very rare.

Case: A 67-year-old female with ascites and progressive weight loss died of respiratory failure secondary to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
