This study presents the development and validation of the 96-microwell-based spectrofluorimetric (MW-SFL) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FD) methods for the quantitation of alectinib (ALC) in its bulk powder form and in urine samples. The MW-SFL was based on the enhancement of the native fluorescence of ALC by the formation of micelles with the surfactant cremophor RH 40 (Cr RH 40) in aqueous media. The MW-SFL was executed in a 96-microwell plate and the relative fluorescence intensity (RFI) was recorded by utilizing a fluorescence plate reader at 450 nm after excitation at 280 nm.

This study evaluated the impact of COVID-19 and other factors on the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of Saudi patients during infection and after recovery using the EQ-5D-5L and EQ-VAS instruments. An observational prospective study was conducted in November 2022, during which 389 COVID-19 patients were surveyed during their visit to a medical center. Two weeks after their recovery, they were contacted again to re-evaluate their HRQoL (192 patients either refused to participate or withdrew).

Genetic polymorphism in long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) HOTAIR is linked with the risk and susceptibility of various cancers in humans. The mechanism involved in the development of CRC is not fully understood but single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) can be used to predict its risk and prognosis. In the present case-control study, we investigated the relationship between HOTAIR (rs12826786, rs920778, and rs1899663) polymorphisms and CRC risk in the Saudi population by genotyping using a TaqMan genotyping assay in 144 CRC cases and 144 age- and sex-matched controls.

The recovery of uranium from aqueous effluents is very important for both the environment and the future of nuclear power. However, issues of sluggish rates and poor selectivity persist in achieving high-efficiency uranium extraction. In this study, uranyl (UO) ions were imprinted on an amino-phenolic chitosan derivative using an ion-imprinting method.

Bosutinib (BOS) is FDA approved drug for the treatment of chronic phase (CP) Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). We report a fast, sensitive, and simple LC-MS/MS method, validated for the determination of BOS in human liver microsomes, utilizing tofacitinib (TOF) as the internal standard. The separation of BOS and TOF was done using a 1.

A novel approach is proposed to design a circularly polarized (CP) hemispherical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with a wide axial ratio (AR) bandwidth by incorporating an additional dielectric substrate between the antenna and the ground plane. This is in addition to the lower feeding substrate that is located between the ground plane on one side and the feeding microstrip line on the other side. Adding another substrate on top of the ground plane provided an additional degree of freedom in the design that facilitated the achievement of ab 18% AR bandwidth.

The emergence of cancer resistance to targeted therapy represents a significant challenge in cancer treatment. Therefore, identifying new anticancer candidates, particularly those addressing oncogenic mutants, is an urgent medical demand. A campaign of structural modifications has been conducted to further optimize our previously reported 2-anilinoquinoline-diarylamides conjugate VII as a B-RAFV600E/C-RAF inhibitor.

This study explored the levels of work engagement and identified whether personal and job-related factors influenced the work engagement dimensions of vigor, dedication, and absorption of nurses working in a Saudi hospital. A descriptive, cross-sectional correlational survey of nurses in inpatient wards (general medical, surgical, and specialized wards) and critical care units in a tertiary hospital in Saudi Arabia, using The Utrecht Work Engagement Scale. Using a self-report questionnaire, 426 staff nurses and 34 first-line nurse managers were surveyed.

Different physical and chemical techniques could be used to prepare chitosan/Silver nanoparticle (CHS/AgNPs) nanocomposite. The microwave heating reactor was rationally adopted as a benign tool for preparing CHS/AgNPs owing to less energy consumption and shorter time required for completing the nucleation and growth particles. UV-Vis, FTIR, and XRD, provided conclusive evidence of the AgNPs creation, while TEM micrographs elucidated that the size was spherical (20 nm).
