This study was undertaken to assess the antioxidant and neuropharmacological potentials of the methanol leaf extract of Acanthus ebracteatus (MAEL) through experimental and in silico methods. The phytochemical screening (PS) and GC-MS (gas chromatography-mass spectrometry) identified 28 phytochemicals with different classes in nature in MAEL. The MAEL revealed better antioxidant activity through various in vitro antioxidant assays.

We have previously shown that selective inhibition of plasma membrane V-ATPases in breast tumor cells inhibits the invasion of these cells . We have now developed a nanobody directed against an extracellular epitope of the mouse V-ATPase c subunit.

This study aims to estimate the CVD incidence among RA patients in Saudi Arabia (SA), vital for assessing CVD burdens within this group.
Patients And Methods: This retrospective study took place at two centers in the Eastern Province of SA, including all adult RA patients who visited the rheumatology clinic from 2016 to 2021 and were prescribed disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs).
Purpose: The present study investigated the nephron-testicular protective effects of sesamin against cisplatin (CP)-induced acute renal and testicular injuries.
Methods: Thirty-two male Wistar rats were allocated to receive carboxymethylcellulose (0.5%, as sesamin vehicle), CP (a single i.
With a global towering prevalence of index acute myocardial infarction (nonrecurrent MI, NR-MI), a high incidence of recurrent MI (R-MI) has emerged in recent decades. Despite the extensive occurrence, the promising predictors of R-MI have been elusive within the cohort of survivors. This study investigates and validates the involvement of distinct gene expressions in R-MI and NR-MI.

The objective of this in-depth analysis is to concentrate on Isorhamnetin by addressing its molecular insights as an effective anticancer compound and its synergistic activity with other anticancer drugs. The main contributors to Isorhamnetin's anti-malignant activities at the molecular level have been identified as alterations of a variety of signal transduction processes and transcriptional agents.

Aims: The main propose of this trial was to determine the impact of supplementing diets with spirulina or curcumin nanoparticles on the performance and health indicators of Nile tilapia fingerlings.
Methods: In a 56-day feeding trial, 180 tilapia fingerlings were assigned into three main groups, as follows: 1st, control group, 2nd, Spirulina platensis (SP; 5 g kg diet) and 3rd, curcumin nanoparticles (CUR-NPs; 30 mg kg diet).
The objective of this study was to produce an innovative bigel formulation by combining glycerol monostearate (GMS) oleogel with hydrogels stabilized by various agents, including cold pressed chia seed oil by-product gum (CSG), gelatin (G), and whey protein concentrate (WPC). The findings indicated that the choice of hydrogel influenced the rheological, textural, and microstructural properties of the bigels. The ' value of the bigel samples was higher than ″, indicating that all the bigels exhibited solid-like characteristics.

Many gene mutations that modify neuronal synapse function are associated with autism and therefore may impact the enteric nervous system that regulates gastrointestinal function. A missense mutation in the gene encoding the cell adhesion protein Neuroligin-3 was identified in two brothers with autism who both experienced severe gastrointestinal dysfunction.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus gains entry into human cells by exploiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), a key component known as the spike protein (S), as a point of entry. Initially, SARS-CoV-2 suppresses the natural function of ACE2, leading to a gradual decline in cell health. Additionally, individuals with cancer are considered more susceptible to COVID-19.

In this work, we have monitored by transient absorption spectroscopy (TAS) excited electrons in the conduction band decaying into the invoked traps to extract their lifetime using a rutile single crystal instead of the more conveniently used powder homologue. This is preferred in order to rule out grain boundary, degree of crystallinity, and size effects among other parameters that would obscure the results.

Background There are numerous quality-of-life (QoL) assessment tools available; however, only a few are designed specifically for children with chronic conditions. Among these assessment tools are the Hearing Environments and Reflection on QoL questionnaires for children (HEAR-QL26, HEAR-Q28) developed by Washington University. Unfortunately, there are no other tools that assess hearing loss, and none of them are in Arabic.
