Purpose: To assess the long-term outcomes of patients treated for distal hypospadias. Assessment of long-term follow-up for a homogeneous population with hypospadias is difficult and there has consequently been a paucity of publications in this regard.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective review was carried out to compile cases of distal hypospadias operated at our center between 1990 and 1999 according to the MAGPI procedure.

This article is a reflective starting point within the framework of research on interactive delivery simulators. The objective is to open the perspective within our field to a set of concepts that allow us to create a base of reflection toward the goal of developing a theoretical framework with which to analyse and conceptualize activities with a delivery Simulator. The simulator SIMone is proposed as a means of analysis through general economic and philosophic approaches, by connecting simulation, teaching, the notion of instrument and technique.

Methods: From a set of 30 fact sheets collected from TM African healers (vodou healers), main clinical concepts and terminology were extracted. Twenty vodou-based pain management concepts were collected from an interview with a TM vodou practitioner.

Objectives: In this study we investigated pulpal blood flow (PBF) values and moving blood cell velocity (MBCV) curves recorded by laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) for pulpal vitality diagnosis in general dental practice and to compare MBCV curves to standard diagnostic tests in traumatology.
Study Design: LDF tests performed with the PeriFlux System 5000 were applied to vital and nonvital (endodontic treatment) teeth of healthy students (n = 52) and on 24 luxated teeth of patients.
Results: The PBF values were not reproducible and no statistically significant differences were observed between vital and nonvital teeth.
Endodontic treatment in dentistry is a delicate procedure and many treatment attempts fail. Despite constant development of new root canal filling techniques, the clinician is confronted with both a complex root canal system and the use of filling materials that are harmful for periapical tissues. This paper evaluates reported studies on biomaterials used in endodontics, including calcium hydroxide, mineral trioxide aggregate, calcium phosphate ceramics and calcium phosphate cements.

It was postulated that the assessed pain had two dimensions (signs outside and during caregiving). The first version of the scale was constructed on the basis of the results of a survey among 48 experienced nurses and caregivers and of a review of the literature.

Design: Hospital-based case-control multicenter study with prospective data collection.
Settings: Geriatric university hospitals with long-, intermediate-, and short-term care facilities.
