The electrocatalytic oxygen and hydrogen evolution reactions (OER and HER) are key processes used in energy storage and conversion. We have developed a highly efficient MnCoO nanostructure anchored with functionalized carbon black (MnCoO/f-CB), which has been characterized by XRD, FT-IR, Raman spectra, FE-SEM, and HR-TEM analyses as robust bifunctional electrocatalysts for both HER and OER. At a characteristic 10 mA cm current density, the MnCoO/f-CB composite ECs exhibit low overpotentials of 330 mV for OER and 360 mV for HER, respectively.

Chloramphenicol (CAP), a potent antibiotic capable of inhibiting protein synthesis, presents significant challenges related to long-term dosing and its persistent leaching into the environment, raising concerns about environmental contamination and resistance development. To address this issue, we developed a reliable, low-cost, and biocompatible nanocomposite material comprising tannic acid (TA)-reduced graphene oxide (rGO) intercalated into manganese-doped tin oxide nanoparticles (MnSnO₂ NPs). The structural formation and catalytic activity of the MnSnO₂ NPs/TA-rGO nanocomposite were characterized using field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and electrochemical techniques.

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are a potent antibacterial agent, especially when used to treat bacteria that are multidrug resistant. However, it is challenging to eliminate the hazardous reducing agents that remain in AgNPs produced by the conventional chemical reduction process. To overcome these challenges, the presented research demonstrates the fabrication of AgNPs using iota-carrageenan (ι-carra) as a carbohydrate polymer using electron beam (EB) irradiation.

The phenolic compound trichlorophenol (TCP) is an ingredient in fungicides and herbicides. This compound's high stability, bioaccumulation, toxicity, and poor biodegradability result in severe environmental and biological health issues. Consequently, it is crucial to have an affordable and sensitive method for detecting TCP in environmental samples.

The biodegradable polymer poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) starts decomposing at room temperature. Kaolin clay (KO) was dispersed and blended into PBAT composites using a solution-casting method. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to evaluate the structure and morphology of the composite materials.

Biodegradable composites with antimicrobial properties were prepared with microparticles of silver stannate (AgSnO) and poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) and tested for applications in food packaging. The PBAT matrix was synthesized and confirmed by H-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Ultrasonic and coprecipitation methods were used to synthesize AgSnO.

A poly(methyl methacrylate--maleic anhydride) P(MMA--MA) copolymer was synthesized via radical polymerization. The synthesized P(MMA--MA) copolymer was identified by H- and C-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-NMR), (C-NMR), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The poly(butylene adipate--terephthalate) (PBAT)/P(MMA--MA)-SiO composites were developed using a solution-casting method.

Abuse of carbendazim (CBZ) leaves excessive pesticide residues on agricultural products, which endangers human health because of the residues' high concentrations. Hence, a composite consisting of functionalized carbon nanofibers (f-CNF) with neodymium oxide (NdO) was fabricated to monitor CBZ at trace levels. The NdO/f-CNF composite-modified electrode displays higher electro-oxidation ability towards CBZ than NdO and f-CNF-modified electrodes.

Biodegradation is necessary for water-soluble or water-immiscible polymers because they eventually enter streams which can neither be recycled nor incinerated. It is important to consider the microbial degradation of natural and synthetic polymers in order to understand what is necessary for biodegradation and the mechanisms involved. Low/high-density polyethylene is a vital cause of environmental pollution.

A needle-shaped perovskite, barium stannate (BaSnO), was synthesized via a co-precipitation technique for the simultaneous electrochemical determination of antibiotic drug nitrofurantoin (NFTO) and pericardial drug nifedipine (NFP). The spectroscopic and microscopic result confirms that as-prepared BaSnO particles formed with desired crystalline nature, functional group, pore size, pore diameter, and fine needle-like morphology. The simultaneous electrochemical detection of the two pharmaceutical compounds was examined via cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) technique using BaSnO-modified glassy carbon electrode (BaSnO/GCE) at a potential range from +0.
